That Nismo was quite possibly one of the ugliest LMP cars ever. Evidently it didnt do well in real racing either.

Yes it just wasn´t fast. Nissan pulled the money plug on the project which killed it.

The hybrid part of the package wasn't ready for Le Mans, so they ran it with something like a 20-25% power deficit compared to the other cars on the field... Also, it was front-wheel drive (the electric motors were supposed to power the rear wheels), which isn't exactly the best when coming out of a corner hard! They had no chance.

Yes they could actually apply it to the front or the rear. The design just did not have enough development time to be a proven concept or not. With the withdrawal of Nissan it was the end of this project. I really like unusual bodies for my RC cars. My past fav was my Mazda Furai pictures below also mounted on my first Awesomatix 700EVO.

Before you consider running it.. you may want to hang on because it will become a collectors peace. Tamiya does not plan to renew its licensing with BMW!

If you're in the NJ/Pa/NY/Del area, come race Sunday's at RC Car World. We have new black carpet, plenty of pit spaces with power AND Mike, the owner (and the race director Juwan) don't care what body you run. In fact, we LOVE to see the odd ball body race.
I race my MX-Stang as well as my McAllister Hot Rod.
The more different bodies we have in the class, the better the spectators like it.

Running the Ford GT in USGT on T4 16, wheels are just for pic's! Club doesn't mind what body we run, just wants us out.

Did you have to do any mods to get it to fit? It looks good.

I have a race this weekend in Kingston, Ontario where I plan to run my TC3 with the HPI Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R body.

Performs well, I was USGT champioin in 2014 at the TexasEOS using this body. Has nice neutral feel to it, I did change wing with another tamiya, just can't remember which one.
