STX 2.0 - followed instructions and wiped 5-10 minutes before my heat. 1st 2 - 3 laps are like driving on ice, then it starts to come in a bit. After the race, tires are not sticky at all. This was 2 weeks ago on a chilly VHT prepped track.
Ended up,some of the fast guys were not using traction compound at all.

I'm using Liquid Wrench on the off road tires ( clay compounds ) - I'm tempted to try it in USGT.
Used wd40 last summer on high traction asphalt, grip was good but if you don't run very long and re-apply it you can actually get enough grip to kill your corner speed.

Paragon and Tweak mix baked in with tire warmers and thoroughly wipe off any excess.

This is a tough call expensive or what reasonable that works. You need batteries have low IR. I use SMC or GenAce they have low IR and reasonably priced. These are my preference. When the IR goes up I sell them to a beginner at a reasonable price and replace them. I'm not butt hurt from buying $100 battery.

Default USGT Rules Questions

I just checked the USVTA rule book for USGT and is it up to date? For example it says USGT weight is "1380 grams (ROAR T2 weight)"; but Roar T2 weight is now 1350. Also was looking for the Protoform 190mm Ford Gt body is that legal for USGT (or is it even out yet)? Looks really cool at Daytona in the Red White and Blue color scheme.

The legal weight is 1380
The 200mm version of the Ford GT is legal.
The 190mm version is not out....yet.

Guess I'll have to wait a little longer for that 190mm version. I just checked the ROAR rule book; it still says 1380 for T2 Touring cars, although I'm told by ROAR officials here that a memo change to the ROAR rules set the T2 limit to 1350 about the time we held our regionals. Since ROAR doesn't have separate rules for USGT (like it does for VTA) and based on that rule change, 1350 was used for the TC and USGT cars here in TX at the ROAR regionals in early November. Since ROAR doesn't have there own USGT rules and tens to default to those published by USVTA, I sure wish USVTA would clarify the USGT weight rule since their current statement is contradictory: 1380 is not the current ROAR T2 weight limit! Just say 1380 or 1350 but don't reference both as it is now written.

I've checked the website, but just to confirm...the Colt Porsche 911 GT1 is in fact legal? Sure looks like a Daytona / prototype that people were complaining about and I want to be sure before I pull the trigger.

Thanks

Yes, it's legal. It's very pretty, and works really well, too! I've been running one since the McAllister Corvette DP was outlawed.

LOL! This is too precious, the Porsche 911 GT1 doing exactly what it was designed for... I strongly approve!

Keep an eye out, by the way, they're available in pairs, to save up some cash: http://www.rcmart.com/colt-200mm-bod...o-p-29542.html

That's where I got mine. Unfortunately, they are currently out of stock there and at most other sources, too.

Not with a ROAR approved ESC and software.
