and heres a pic of a mod you guys should try. I used the AE battery post hold down screws so I can take the gear cover off with the clips instead of the three screws.

356 pages down under a hundred to go... (working on computers for a living is handy as I read forumns while waiting on the blue bar...)

I can say this wow what a TON of information, Im looking into getting a couple books that where reccomended (big motor book, and the XXX setup one on TC) seems like some valuable information. Its great so many things have changed but the basics are still the same.

Question time. Any great online resources for the proper care and maintinece Ect of the Lithium Cells? They seem to be much more abusable then my old once a day 1700 for mod and 1400 Ni Cads. On setups There is WAYYYY to many individual adjustments that can be made on these cars so I was wondering if anyone had a place online or possibly in the XXX book that explained where to start tuning. Obviously Drivetrain first Then tires... but after that Im stuck as to which things I should start adjusting first... Im guessing camber and toe angles will be a good start along with Rideheight but thats all from my Off road days no clue when to start worring about roll center oil pistons spring rates ect ect or which order to start changing things in.

Again you guys are incredible and your knowledge is amazing Im glad we have a place to share the information.

Y's

PS will be getting the car this weekend just the RTR and a couple packs prolly an ICE charger might be able to run novice next weekend for sure in 2 weeks when I get paid again and can get some decent tires for the track and a motor if needed we will see and Ill try and keep anyone interested up to date via this thread.

yodaopie,

The XXX Main book is pretty good. It is especially applicable to those times when you have a workable setup and want to figure out where to go from there.

Big Jim's Motor Book is extremely repetitive and doesn't say a whole lot more than what he has showing on his forum at RCCAR.com. Getting a dialogue going with Big Jim on his forum can be helpful and he does have great insight about motors.

Look at the Team Losi website for an XXX-S setup with stock motors and rubber tires on asphalt or carpet.

Welcome to the club.

Sheldons Hobbies in San Jose, CA has black prebuilt Takeoff wheels with tires that I use exclusively. Apparently, Sheldons has to buy them in large quantities to get them that way. They are great.

I used the AE 4x40 caps screws with the hole for a body clip. I put mine right in the middle at the back but to do that you have to cut the screw pretty small because thats where the belt runs in the rear. The carbon fiber parts I made on a CNC router at work.

LXP2840 - towers part number
