Are you simply narrowing the inside of the wheel 1 or 2 mm? I am running TRC tires if that helps. I don't know if Jaco's have the same problem

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have found this problem too. I am running Treadz Foams, and I just trim 2mm off the front tires. Simple enough with the tire lathe, and excato knife.

Don't know if this will help you guys or not, but...A guy here (KeNelson) who just got the adapter had trouble fitting his spur gear cause it was rubbing...I had a lexan spacer out of my yok for the center one-way on it that I didn't need, had all the holes drilled for the spur, so I gave him that and he used to to space the spur so it would fit.

Anyone have any negative feedback for me about cutting the front shock shafts threads half off and putting ball ends on the bottom of the shock shaft and using ball ends in the a-arm kind of liek the schumacher car? My friend has run this setup for about a month now and some guy at the track that he raceshis car told him that he pretty much screws up how the front suspension works on the XXX-S with the car configured like that. The only thing that I had to do is add another nut to the screw that mounts to the shock tower so that it makes the shock aligned properly straight up and down without it lean backwards at all. I did the same to the back. Mark or Ron.. do you have any comment on this? Is this a issue with messing up the front suspension?

Thanks for your guys help.

I am not too clear on the first part of your post, but using a captured ball mounted with a washer to retain the lower part of the shock works fine. Wouldnt see any reason to change it.

As for the cutting the shaft or shock body I would use the measures on the FAQ. Use the precise mods so you can be sure to share and use the same info from people. That is why the measurements work.

As for the shock mount on the shock tower, I too have used additional spacer to move the top further out from the tower. Very slight.

MDawson,
Please add this to your FAQ: People running 28mm foams can use TC3 wheel hex adapters. This widens the car to the legal limit and also you can run the wide foams without having to trim the tire and wheel. The TC3 wheel hubs are slightly wider. Thanks.

Troy: Remember that since you are using that dumb reverse order view, the Message #'s are practically meaningless, since with each post all of the numbers are incremented. Real men use normal thread ordering!

WHITESTER: You might also try reducing the EPA (end point adjustment) on your transmitter for your steering. This will prevent "full travel" of the steering -- something that I have not needed on the Losi anyway. I have my car set up to 80% EPA on both ends and it still handles quite well. I also found that the dogbones don't bend as often on my car as on others' cars, not sure if this has something to do with it or not.

WHITESTER: I meant for you to look at my message to MDawson. Sorry I wasn't more specific. A local fast guy who drives the XXX-S gave me that tip right off. I also have my M8 set to 80% dual rate to limit travel. I have more than enough steering travel.

MDawson: Thanks for adding the tip.

Mr. Losi

So you are saying that you cannot run Droop #2 on the Losi guage? The most droop you can go is #4?

If that is the case, then you front shocks are too short when extended to their maximum length. I can easily run #2, but I have stock length shocks/shafts, only trimming the shock end and spring cup to get more uptravel. I still have more than enough downtravel.

On another note, if you make modification to lower the piston in the oil by cutting the shaft, or running the Cyrul shafts/shocks, when you go to Low Roll Center , you will most likely not even be able to get the droop to #6. The kit length works perfect with Low Roll Center....since the arm is ~0.100" lower where the shock mounts when you run LRC.

Hey thanks Ty. I just trimmed 2mm off the inside of my front tires. This is my very first TC, so unlike most of you, I have never owned TC3.

Man I can't get over how EASY this TripleXS is to drive!

As we are discussing droop, I'd like to clear up something. Does more droop mean a higher or a lower number on the droop gauge? Sorry if this sound silly but I'm new to droop settings.
