Saturday night, they will be running at SoCal; on Sunday I will be running at Ultimate Hobbies. For more info you can call Ultimate in Orange. Ultimate check-ins are at 8am and first races are at 11am or so. Usually get out of there at about 4pm. 2quals and Main.

Ultimate is outdoors. They run mod/stock in expert and sportsman sedan. They also run nitro.

While you are here, why don't elaborate on your opinion of the high vs. low roll center.

We were running some carpet a few weeks ago, and I ran HRC, and Ruona ran LRC. Jay ran a little firmer spring, but other than that our cars were pretty similar. I haven't done a whole lot of testing with LRC yet.......

Picked up some of the new shock towers by SpeedTech RC at SpeedWorld ...they not only look trick but they are true to the original, slapped them on and not a bit of difference on my tweak station. Had to reem out the center hole a little bit (the one that the peg on the chassis "plugs" into). Had a couple of serious whacks into the wall (cause of my illegal motor I'm sure) and they held up no problem. Here are some pics Front Rear

High vs. Low

Up at speedworld for the nats I worked with both, but limited time made me choose High roll center. At this race we were running stiffer springs purples, blues, and silvers. We used the low roll centers to let the car roll more and help carve the corner. (Seemed to have more steering)
For myself I liked the high roll center, a more stable car, and with a front diff I could be more aggressive. (the 180 at the end of the straight was tough for me to get right all the time (with the one-way)

Further testing I have been working with high roll center (because that's what is available right now)(and I still have a bunch of stuff to try yet). With HighRoll center, I have been using softer springs (white, orange) These let the car roll more than with the stiffer springs, the result was better steering and forward bite (shortening the rear camber has given me more rotation in the middle of the corner). A nice result of the softer springs is the car is not upset on rough tracks (you can see the car move with the bumps and not hop and lose traction)

On higher bite tracks (socal) I have been using a one-way lately, faster but your driving needs to be more precise.

Next to work with will be swaybars and shock dampening, and a retest of over and underdrive. Also a retest of brown grease vs. silicone for the diff.

Then time to test low roll center again.
My current set-up is on the Losi web site.

How's it going! Long time no see! I'm glad you like them shock towers (and thanks for testing the durability on them ) I just sent some up to billy so he should have them for other XXX-S owners before this weekend. I miss racing up there with you guys!

Using the High and Low Roll Center settings.... what are the parts that you need? I take it that all the parts we have now are for high roll center... but for low roll center I take it we can use the stock piviot blocks, but the pin holders behind the arms need to be changed? Is losi going to come out with more kits this and if so how long will it take? Ron, when is the one-way and sway bars goin g to be ready? What all are we going to have to buy for the One Way up front? I see 3 parts listed for the One way but is the $67 kit (i think that is the price) the one that has everything you need?

I really don't know where all this speculation comes from regarding the pricing of the one-way.

Retail is is $60, Horizon's MAP pirce is $54, so you should be able to pick one up for around $50 at your LHS.

ROLL CENTER:

To run low roll center, you will need to reduce the hieght of your pivot blocks by 0.150". The front and rear pin mounts simply are remounted using the lower set of holes(the manual covers that). You will also have to trim the bosses that hte droop screws thread into on the bumpers. Shorter set screws are also necessary. I would recomend picking up an additional bumper set, so that you can switch back and forth more quickly, w/o changing droop screws, etc.

Thanks Sir-Speedy.... I may have to do that. I wish someone would make either a better bumper or a better Droop setting modification so that the bumper does not bend a little from the droop seeting. I guess you can acheive the same thing by using spacers inside the shock only if you are not going to change your droop setting all the time.
