i used to have a 414m(for keeps) and have another 04r running now with my 3xs.
in terms of tuning, the 3xs is as good as the 414m,this is where the 04r is lacking.

not tat the 04r is not gd,but these r 2 complete different level cars...

the 3xs felt gd and stable compare to my 04r,...but feel tat my 04r had a harder acceleration compare to the 3xs...

jus my feelings,....
feelings,...nothing more than feelings...

I would try going to 60 pistons in the front with 50wt. I remember that being a huge change on the cars last year at Cleveland. It prevented the car from dumping over the front. To help your car on the exit try moving your rear arms and front arms all the way forward. This will help the forward drive issue that you are having.
Thats what I am going to do on the shocks then. My #60 pistons should be here this week.

I have front and rear arms forward already and liked that change, but my car still over rotates on exit. I wonder if thats too much exit steering for ME in stock. Its just might be a preference thing. I am going to take out the neg. kick-up on that car next practice session. If its becomes too aggressive again on turn in, I'll run a stiffer front spring or play with Caster some more.

I have my Mod Losi car set-up with the negative kick-up in front and I know thats gonna help as that car pushes out on exit (as mod cars will do!!).

Thanks Todd,
Ray

No new part numbers as of yet.

I do believe that the rear shock tower will be a running change so that means no part numbers. The same can be said for the rear arms. The rear hubs on the other hand will have a new part number. Todd H. believes they should be available around the Cleveland race.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we got in a shipment of Losi XXX-S parts. We are also expecting more in next week (they have to ship cross the country).

Highlights include the Aluminum Dog Bones, 6 degree blocks. Stop on over and take a look, KT Hobbies.

Are the Losi threaded shock bodies good enough? Why it seems that many people are using shocks of other rc cars? Do they really leak (loose oil) a lot?

Default Shocks

My rear shocks are quite good. For some reason my front short shocks with Nitride shafts build beautifully then the next day-squeek, squeek!!! I dont know why??? Some friends with XXXS report eame issue with front shocks. But there is no evidence of leaking oil anywhere.

Weird , eh?

My shocks definitely leak air. They don't leak oil, though. I usually just stick them in the shock pump and top them off before each race day and they are fine.

The losi shocks are designed to have some air in them. If they did not have air in them, then it wouldn't compress. When you first build them, yes they might not have air in them. They will pull air around the seals, as when you first build and bleed, they will have a vaccume in the shocks. Then when it equalizes, thats when you have a ''perfect shock''
