Often times, people will "over drive" a track, trying to cut everything as close as possible. It's important to remember that the shortest run line is not necessarily the best run line, and that is especially true in tracks with wider lanes and fewer 180-degree corners. Plus, there are benefits of taking a less dangerous path around the track...
The key is to find the line that will let your car flow through a corner without scrubbing much speed, and that line changes depending on your setup. If your car is set up "tight" with a lot of steering, you're going to want to turn in sharply and hit the "back" of the corner. If your car is a little loose, you'll want to take the corner a little wider so you won't scrub off as much speed -- taking tight corners with a loose suspension will cause your rear tires to break traction, resulting in speed loss.
It's not always noticable on a fast track, so it's important to keep in mind what you're doing, and always check your lap times afterwards. If lap times aren't available, see how you do relative to some of the faster drivers at the track.

exactly, treat the track at a whole instead of individual coners, always set up for relatively long straight

I used 86/31 for my gear ratio. It should be 5.08 instead of 5.2. My friend told me to use 115/39 which is 5.38. The speed is excellent and run time is more than 10min. with Panasonic (Black).
As far as durability wise, You either use the BRP Front Bumper to help protect the A-arms or just stock tons of A-arms.

oby- are you running a one-way? what's your setup like? i find the losi to be awesome on such tracks..
smooth steering controll is important too, rather than going from full lock to no lock repeatedly through the corner which will scrub off speed not to mention unsettle the car.

arent running a one way, i'll post the setup i have a little later, its kinda complicated...you'll see what i mean.

OBY, I'm going to order some of those ING tyres (the special 3 full sets for £30) One person at the club tried some and he said they were pretty good
I would try the one-way for all those big Scottish tracks, do you know of anybody who's tried the apex one-way. It looks pretty good but I'm not sure about the wear rate on the metal outdrives

what do you guys run for droop? its one tuning tool i've never used but i know its there. i've always run 2mm less infront then the rear. either 2/4 or 3/5 . what does changing this ratio do like running 5/5 or 4/4 or 4/2???

try 2 kimbro spur gears glued together. this puts it a 10mm. Kinwald runs this and you can change it for diffrent tires.

More droop = more traction front or rear. Too much will slow you down.

I use the Stratus 2.0 on my losi and I cant feel no difference versus the older stratus.
