coming in one hole on the front shocks has always given me a more smoother turn in. When I want the car to be a bit more responsive I came out on the tower. This might be different for other racers. There's nothing better than testing so try a couple of different things and see what works best for you.

Sorry to step back a page or two, but I noticed a molded stop for steering throw on the hub and was wondering if the new kits have this or if it stills needs the modification?

I am fairly sure that no change has been made to the kit design. You'll still need to make the modification.

i already have the bearings in the bellcrank but i will try some different ballends and studs. i will try all your sugestions and see how i go with my settup.

my steering came with considerable slop and if you remember back to the street weapon days, there were these little rubberbands you put around the diff bearings to seal them or something but you never did, put two around each tie-rod in the steering and basicly takes it out of the picture.

all the kits had the "stops" on the stearing knuckle....the aded stops are for faomn tires, and you glue a .030 washer tothe knuckle......

What is the purpose for the different set of holes, where you can control the position, for the Front and Rear Diff Cover? Are they just for the use of the high roll center mount and low center mount?

Yup, that's exactly it. The other set allows you to run the low roll center option.

so you only need the stops when running foam tires? why not with rubber?

It is for rubber also. It was explained to me when the car first came out that it prevented binding in the CV's. I used aluminum purple screws to limit the throw, looks good.

I stripped one of the top hole in the front diff cover. I would like to know can I use the 4 degree Pivot holder with high center mount and the lower hole to get two degree kickup, like default.

Wow seems like this thread isn't always at the top like it used to be. Everyone must be out enjoying their cars Anyway, I've come back to the XXX-S after a little stint with a FTTC3. Just missed the way this car handles....... I'm going to start racing mod so the Losi seemed like a better choice over the TC3 as far as my driving is concerned.

David Joor- Could you give me some pointers with gearing for mod considering you run with foams on carpet? Do you take tire wear into account as the day goes on? I know for stock racing I always figure out my roll-out which gives me a good ratio based on tire size but with modified it seems like a whole different ball game.

Any help anybody can offer on this subject would be much appreciated.

Honestly on a local level, I find the gearing that works best in practice and maybe gear up one tooth in the 3rd round or main. The tires don't wear that fast so find what is best in practice. My track is small so I run a 128/24 on a 10dbl with a 76foot straight and 61mm tires. I run a 23 on a 9dbl and a 25 on a 11dbl, just 1 tooth difference. The Losi is a great mod car, that is it's bread and butter.
