The speed trap needs to be atleast 100 ft with two people timing. When the car hits the first line that person starts his/her stop watch, when the car hits the second line that person hits their stop watch. Then the two people get together and stop their watches simultaneously. This is the best speed trap you are going to get without electronic beam timing. The last vid posted is no where near 68 mph. I have done many speed tests with both radar and speed traps for the last 10 yrs.

The speed in this video

http://www.one18th.com/showtoy.php?id=2690

is about 25 to 30 mph

this is about 50 mph confirmed by radar.

http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=11095

Keep working on it.

I can't do a 100 foot speed trap. If you want to send me a better radio system, that would be nice.

Also the video has something wrong with it. It's much faster to see it in person. It was also losing lots of power because of the front diff. (the power that was getting sent to the front was just waisted because the diff wouldn't move the tires) I'll post another video when I get the new front diff.

Also, how did you figure 25 to 30 mph? I just watched the video, and it sure looks like it's going 25 mph, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next time open your eyes when your watching it.

Also the video was taken from about 20 to 30 feet away on a hill, so it looks like it's going slower.

I just watched the "50 mph comfirmed by radar thing. And that is quite a bit slower than mine.

HOW ABOUT YOU JUST SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR MICRO. PROVE YOUR POINT OR LEAVE. Eariler you said i dont need to prove anything, THEN STOP POSTING. Either you back up what you say or you dont. And the fastest reaction time you can have is between .1 and .2, no .04. See how fast you can hit the stopwatch, you will notice its no where near .04

Yeah, I don't need to prove anything, but for the people who are interested (the ones that don't cry about somone posting) I'll show them videos, and tell thwm about my car, and they can help me out and stuff.

Also, why would I lie about how fast I can get a stop watch to stop? People just don't do that, unless you know of some.

Leave? Sorry, pballkid, but you don't have to read this thread.

Its not that far away as you can see the size of the BMX compared to the size of the car/paving.

It's a full size bike, I could measure the distance next time I go there if you want.

Didn't get the new diff today. Oh well.

EDIT: The camera was between 35 and 45 feet away from the car in the video. (tape measure ends at 33)

pballkid: Here's a pic of the can't get .04 thing. (it's the highest quality pic I can put on here, and the flash kept messing it up even though I turned it off.)

Every one knows how fast a 12th scale pan car is right?
Imagine the same electronics ona smaller car with 6 cells sub cs, and a 10 turn, or 8 turn whatever...Dood, 68mph is No problemo.

I didn't say it was a problem, I just said his car isn't doing it yet. I do believe that there are problems. For a car with that small of tires to go that fast, you will need a surface that is as flat as glass. The bumpiness of even new blacktop is quite bad for tires that small. I also don't think a 1" foam tire will do 68 mph. 1/10 scale pan car tires are about 2.44" in diameter. So there for if a 1" tire can do 68 mph then the 2.44 should be able to handle165.92 mph..... Most of us know that they can't, they will explode long before that speed. This is the same as spinning a micro tire at 68 mph.... I don't see that happening unless is it some kind of capped tire.

Do you even know what a micro is? You don't need a "glass smooth" surface (and they won't get airborn if they hit a bump), the foam tires I'm using (and so is almost all the other people who have 540 micros) will NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come off the wheels, you could spin them up to 150mph and they would stay on. Someone already tried proving this stuff, but they were wrong.
