Originally posted by KilRuf WYD, yeah... getting my EvoIV ready for TCS at RCO. Slowly but surely. I just need a few more parts and it should be done. I just really need a body. But not really sure which one to bring this time. I'll probably go back to the Modena body. Not sure if I really liked the NSX... and I think my Altezza had waaaay toooo much steering hehe. So right now I've been racing my 415 on carpet. I'll bring it as a back up car. But it is no where near TCS legal right now. I'll probably be using the 415 for the club race the night before the TCS. They race foam tires for the club race right? What's the big class there? I think last time it was stock. Catch ya there soon. Body wise I always like the NSX and then I went to the MR2 since I'm running the short car setup on my TB-02. |

I just cut them down with an xacto while they are spinning on my truer. Losing the 2mm I cut off does not hurt handling a bit. Lately I have been running the TRC fronts that are 26mm and they work great out of the box with the standard 1.5mm shims. I tried the other stuff and grinding the knuckles but a)there isn't much material there, and b)you start getting into some illegal widths if you are not careful. |
Originally posted by Galifrey I used a dremmel grinding wheel the same diameter as a cell... It made quick work of the battery slots and the cells seat nicely... Then I used a cotton bud loaded with CA to run all around the chassis edges and battery slot edges... :D |
Damn, none of the included servo saver parts fit my JR.....
|
Should do, just a very tight fit
:D |
The KO/Sanwa hub did fit....... with a little force. Thanks Galifrey.:)

Well with my 28mm foam setup my car fits under my 190mm Mazda6 with a little room to spare. Looks like I have about a 1mm or so on each side to spare.:D
I would cut my rims but I never get them exactly the same width and I don't care for that plus I won't run TRC so I will just do a tad bit of work and use the other companies 28mm foams. Not giving money to the darkside!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad other companies are stepping up and making great stuff so we don't always have to use the darkside to go fast.:D |
New Square Part
Hey Guys,
Square have made a new official part for the Evo IV, but from what I understand, you could have used the 415 one anyway. Its STV-7 and It's a Servo Post + Transponder Mount in 1. http://www.rc-square.com/tamiya/stv7.gif |
I have also installed new Hopups onto my Evo IV. I got the new Square Aluminium Motor Mount with the removable top for easy spur changing, as well as the Aluminium Heatsink Bar, Aluminium Front Uprights + aluminium Castor blocks, as well as other blue bits. Will get photos as soon as I can!

Yeh, I have primarily Tamiya Hopup parts but where there was no alternative, I bought the 3rd party stuff. I love the clear gear covers, even if they aren't the Tamiya ones. Makes it soo much easier to work on your car, as you can SEE what's happenin in there.
