I don't run one, I have a CK but it looks like a nice car and they seem to perform well.... If I was in the market for a T bar car I'd probably pick one up....

I just got one a couple weeks ago. I've practiced with it a couple times and plan to race it tomorrow. It is similar to the AE 12L4 but with all the hopups. Right out of the box it was 2 tenths quicker than my L4. I'm very pleased with it. Plus it looks really cool with all the red parts.

Does anyone know how to set the tweak on an L4? I Dont have a tweak station or anything so are there any old skool methods?

Use one quarter (25 cent piece) on the top of each front wheel placed slightly forward of the top. Lift the front center (should be marked) of the chassis with a knife blade and see which coin drops first (right or left). That side is raising first and will be the one that you want to screw in (clockwise) on the adjustment screw. BUT, you also need to first back off (counter-clockwise) the adjustment screw on the opposite side so you don't overtighten the t-bar with the screws. Make little adjustments like 1/8 of a rotation on both sides at the max and keep checking the tweak with the coins over and over again.

How can I tell when the tweak is perfect?

Pretty expensive alignment, Bill...I use nickels. And you should settle the chassis by tapping on the upper shock mount and/or the antenna before lifting the front.:D

when the coins fall at exactly the same time.

od,

I agree about using nickels; but, I usually have two quarters in my pocket more often than two nickels. Besides, I get to put them back in my pocket when I'm done.

Just got back from Scotland; so, I can use penny/pence coins now. A UK penny makes a nickel look pretty expensive...he, he...

breaking

whats drag break, is that when I break my t bar and the car's rear drags down the track!!

nmt6789 02-05-2005 06:20 PM

Drag break is when you release the throttle trigger and it automatically breaks. So when you go into the neutral position, it will break. It has nothing to do with your t-bar...

lespaul 02-05-2005 06:39 PM

haha cool thanks for the tip will try that at the track!!!

For stock motor racing on carpet with a Quantum Comp 2 in my 12L4, I use 5-0-0 settings on the ESC for punch/initial brake/automatic brake.
