Chad,

I have a few extra IRS shocks. Just let me know and I can get one to ya for 10 bucks complete. I have 3 silver ones that I am not currently using that were just re-built.

I will be going to RcScrewZ tuesday to drop some stuff off. I will have one with me just in case you might be able come by and want one.

Tim

Hi All,

AdrianM said earlier to run front turnbuckles in the lower servo holes (and Adrian please feel free to answer this if you see it). This give a lot of Ackerman, the inside wheel really cranks over. Does this have a detrimental effect on handling (steering)? Please explain how. I understand that the wheel need to turn different amount to track the actual direction of the wheel, I'd like to understand the effect on handling.

Thanks all.

Chris.

Default Ackerman

Here is about the best description of Ackerman I've seen:
http://users.pandora.be/elvo/c3/index.htm
Go to the "Alignments" section.

I run holes furthest down, as Adrian describes, when running the servo flat. Don't worry to much about Ackerman. Just shim the outter ball studs and get rid of the bump steer.

take care
john

Default axles

vtl1180ny - CRC has new steel axles now. We have just received them. With still little testing, we havent broken one yet. however they are definately way stronger, and have a nice black finish.

Also look for a new improved center shock to hit the market.

Thanks Johnb,

Has anyone tried different Ackerman angles on the track with a 12th? If so what happened? I like the idea of reducing Bump steer (but I'd like to know how that affects handling too).

Chris.

Default Shock

Hey Wayne...

You won't have to use that white star piece to hold the shock together anymore. There's going to be a threaded bottom, with a cap.

I don't understand why you'd have to remove the shock at all to change batteries.....

i am using an xray lower shock mount on the antenna side. you do have to shave a little off the ball end, but it works great. uses a 3mm hex to take the shock off.
