I've never had to (knock on wood) but if I did I would just cut the remaining plastic away from the axle, clean off the glue, and reuse it. At $12 a pair you don't want to just toss them...
O'D
BTW if you screw them in too tight they will distort the Kingpin hole. That's why you need to glue them.

If you are using the Associated Dynamic Strut front end, then just use the nut on the back of the Lunsford Ti spindle. You do not have to glue them. You will need to relieve the web that runs down the center of the lower control arm. Once you get it all screwed together you will see how much you need to trim away to prevent the nut from hitting and preventing full servo throw. Also don't forget that the Lunsford spindles are reverse thread but the nut on the back is regular thread.

Now get back to work OD, so we can go racing tonight!!!

Whats the most efficient/easy way to tape in my batteries on the 12l3?

I can't seem to get the hang of it. Took me literally 10 times (each side) til I got it satisfactory

RC Paperboy 06-25-2004 01:50 PM

To tape:
Start with your 2 pieces of tape. 6-8 inches is plenty. Push the tape through the gap between the chassis and the pod. Now on the underside of the chassis, stick the tape to the bottom of the chassis. The feed about an inch of tape up through the front cell slot, which is unused. Repeat for the other side.

PLace your cells into the slots. Stick the front piece of tape to the pack, then lay the back peice overthe top and underneath the chassis as far as it will go. If you find that the tape is touching the rear pod after you wrap, youre using too much tape. Repeat for other side.

Adam-is that like short-kinda tall, skinny sorta fat?? hahaha  Just kidding!! I hear my buddy is buying a car from you!! Great news!! I cannot wait to see it run.

BTW-the GAte has been med to med high bite too:lol: But its enough to run Mod 12th and not run out of grip-so its good enough for club racing!!

Stock 1/12th current draw

Hi all,

I was wondering if a stock TC runs an avg 5 min race and draws approx 20A then what does a 4cell stock 1/12th car draw?

Adam Hartzell 06-26-2004 02:14 PM

About 11 to 15 amps.

question

I am running a Trinity Reflex 12 in stock class. My question is which pinion gear is decent for a P2k2 motor for 5 minute heats?

Also i am not getting enough turning on my reflex. When i go all the way right or left, the servo horn hits the 2 turnbuckles on each side. Is this normal?

Also on the servo horn, which 2 holes should i put it at. There are 8 holes on my servo horn. I am using the 2 top ones. I was thinking about going to the bottom, but wasnt sure.

Last question which spring should i use the silver, or copper one. I am using the silver one right now and i am liking the way it feels, should i say with it?

Thanks

Jon

As far as gearing It's all going to depend on the roll out for your specific track. Talk to the track operator or the fast guy at your track and see what they recomend. Remember to privide them with your tire size and the # of theeth on your spur. I don't have a Reflex but I built one. Make sure you trim the camber links as stated on the instructions.

JDXray 06-27-2004 05:46 AM

ya i trimmed my campber links already, but everytime i have to keep trimming them alittle more everytime. I guess i will have to ask the guys at my track in 2 months. Me on summer break :D but i brought along all my stuff.

I am getting alot of speed on the open road, and tennis track. And the motor isnt hot. But i know when i hit the track in September i know i am going to have to change things around. I just want to prepare for the changes.

Another still know how i can get more steering.

Also for another question, what should the mesh be like. I have movement between spur and pinion gear because thats what i hear to do. Is this correct? Is too much movement bad?

Here is a short vid my CRC 6-pack in action. Just thought I would change things up a little.

http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=32456

4 cells, Trinity 19 turn, junk steering servo.

Still has a little ways to go to be competative, but it is getting closer.

crimson eagle 06-28-2004 09:39 AM

Hi,

anyone give me some ideas for a decent cheap 12th servo?

Thanks
