bottom plate
Randy,
The part number for the new bottom plate is the same as the old one. This was just a production change, so the part number did not change at all. would reccommend ordering a couple of extras. Robert |

I had a 29 year career with the US Navy as a civilian engineer working wiring systems for military aircraft. As it turns out, the field thing I mentioned is actually true, but it doesn't put force on objects, it only interferes with low strength signals. We fought that a lot in aircraft wiring because the wires carrying power and signals were close together and the wires do act as antenna. Well, I digress. You should be asking me why or how and old shakey guy like me can run competetively with the young whipper snapers, esp Hartzell.  :sneaky:  |
It's impressive I'll say that David. I've seen you run at Ultra once and you are smooth...

Rev3 to rev4
Hey 12th scalers.
Just a quick note to say that the conversion from a Rev3 to Rev4 is very straightforward. Here are some building tips. 1. Servo-you can mount it flat on the chassis-but will need to make a relief in the chassis to clear the Servo saver. Or you can mount it on block raised up a bit. if you choose to run re-active caster front end-you will have no issues there. 2. DO NOT BEVEL the battery slots. bruce made them perfect for GP3300 cells. Just lightly sand them smooth. 3. There is no three. I was able to move evrything over and I only had to slightly adjust one side link. Even the pod was even side to side with one link on!!! I'll post a pic later, Ray |

Originally posted by robert s Tim, Do not worry about borrowing my LRP for the summer. I am not planning on running much more the rest of the year. so if you want to keep it to run in 12th scale for the summer go right ahead and do so. We are a team, remember team T and R Racing. See you tomorrow. Robert:D  I set my pre-load so that my leading edge is slightly higher. like a "^" this way it flattens out under acceleration. Since my car is extremely overweight, 33 ounces, I set the thing up with 3.5mm ride height up front and 4mm in the back and actually I have only one degree of caster and my batteries are moved forwards in the chassis. The thing pushes otherwise. I use a .010" shim under the front t-plate screw and i use a irs SS t-plate. Trinity purple if the dampener tubes are below the plate, trinity red if they're above. If you want psycho dampening for the rear pod on the reflex, put the tubes up top. That's just me though. sns820, I charge my batts at 6 amps. I have killer runtime cells though. Rcsilly's 5 amp charge is safer and you usually don't have any issues with dumping. David, you're the man. I'm impressed at how good you do especially when I watch you up on the drivers stand. I've been racing 1/12th scale for 2 years now and I only aspire to catch up to you within the next 10 years. Ray, that chassis looks killer. One of the locals here had one. It might make me buy a spring car again. Maybe....... Tim |
Ray - that's good to know as I will be upgrading one of my Rev3's to a Rev4. Anxious to see your pics.

REV 3 to REV 4
I finally had some time to practice last night with my Rev 4.
Although I am still not a great (or good for that matter) driver, I was thrilled with my improved laps. I was running with blue side springs, red center spring, double-pink fronts and pink rears on a green track. I was able to steer the car exactly how I wanted to through the whole turn. Being not a great driver, it did take me a couple of packs to make sure to smooth out my line to not over-rotate in mid-corner now that I have the better traction there. Not wanting to start trouble ;), I think the ability to have the narrow chassis (and thus not have the edges rub when running at a reasonable ride height) will be a big advantage over T-Bar designs. |

Hey Ray, where did you get the purple parts from? Just curious...
Clint |
The rear axle is an IRS Big Ring and the Rear pods are IRS. Check them out here IRS Purple Stuff Eventually I will get purple Ti turnbuckles and make sure all nylocks, body clips and ballstuds are purple. Probably never happen!!
