What is it that is being used to reinforce the body?

Aurora_007 11-27-2023 04:13 AM

Hey Guy's Question, I picked up a Trinity X-Factor 6.5t for Blinky 1/12th Mod what gearing and Timing would you recommend? with a 40.5mm rear tire

jasburrito 11-27-2023 07:34 AM

I think the reinforcement material is slot car body armor? 3m adhesive lexan. Not sure have not had a chance to ask. The sticky lexan body washers are racer edge? I am also gonna put mod motor in my practice 1/12. I think you wanna be around 88/22 ish 64p. I would start timing at like 30. I am gonna use a 4.5 boosted and start with 76/18 ish with 48p. Let us know what worked. I did run a mod 13.5 with 94/48 64p. Was a little too slow. So gonna go with 4.5

Pro's and Cons of Running only 1 damper tube?

New Roche is using 1, CRC's test project is using 1
Seen others just use 1 but not really give a clear answer to reason.

If the dampener is flat and vented so it won't generate any internal pressure, there are no Cons. With the dampener tubes at an angle like they are on every double-dampener car, if you only had one dampener it would try to push the pod up or down as it actuated side to side.

We ran a rollout of 50-55mm with 6.5 mod blinky.
keep in mind that you need to drive it like a 13.5 stock car.
aka no real fineness needed on the throttle

Pro - lighter

One tube with thick fluid is more consistent than two tubes with thin. Less maintenance as well.

13,5T justock gearing

I tried to search forums, but without much luck. What rolout for Hobbywing justock 13,5T on black (ETS) carpet?

PROMODVETTE 12-24-2023 09:20 PM

What shims are everyone using for front axles? The xray part number in the manual is over $1.50 a shim for .5mm thick. Surely someone makes a 1/8 id shim in a larger pack than 4 for a reasonable cost.

hunterdawg 12-25-2023 02:51 AM

You might try an RC oval company like Lefthandrc or Muddslide for those shims.

I use these to shim both my 1/8" X12 axles as well as the rotors in my brushless motors :D

On the HW website the Kv is 200rpm higher than a 17.5 (stock timed) I would start with those type runouts. Depending on track size 70-90? With that motor start low.

Acid_CZ 12-28-2023 03:58 PM

Thanks, IŽll start with 70
