if you have to buy the next 1s esc, which will you choose?
noticed that hobbywing 1s high density is the only one with built-in capacitor.

Hobbywing. No need to even fool with others...especially for Modified!

12 gauge is probably too big for the motor wires on a pan car.

Orca's Totem has a cap built in.

I would know - I have three.

I believe Bullfrog was trying to say "ORCA does not have an external cap, it's built in."

I just picked up an OE1 MK2 (2s), excited to try it out. So nice not having to deal with external caps, assuming it works... haha

Sabin 04-22-2024 01:14 PM

If that's the case, he needs to write a bit better. Because his statement reads as if he's claiming there is no internal capacitor.

Yeah, HW is great until you need service then good luck. Unless of course you are sponsored by them.

Man, that is a terrible experience. Something is definitely off down there. At our home track, we have an ORCA factory guy, and whenever we need help or support, he just jumps right in and does whatever he can to help.

Sorry to hear you guys are having such a rough go.

BullFrog 04-22-2024 08:26 PM

Well its built in (sorry)! ORCA was easy to talk with - not like other manufactures I've attempted to deal with in the past. If you factory ORCA guy could contact me I have a few question I'll like to ask him.

I prefer gluing strips onto rim with contact glue (chemopren extrem by henkel, no idea what name it use in US) dry to dry. Angled cut in both directions. CA leaves hard spot.https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...7c7c146b16.jpg

i used to use this pattex, i called it yellow glue when i was young. so, you will true out the remaining tire to reuse the wheel, not putting into thinner to separate the tire and wheel, right?

thanks for the tips!

when you say dry to dry - you don’t add any thinners or solvent to reactivate the glue?

Will be interested in seeing if that seam across the tire holds up.
