The second one is definitely built with Tamiya parts....

Hi Nashrcracer
the first pic is a kawada 1/12 M300
the second is a f103 with a shorten chassis and front end derive
from AYK 86J 1/12 car.

nashrcracer 11-13-2003 10:47 AM

associated is coming out with a 12L4 but I don't know what it will look like. I heard that from one of the team drivers the does R&D for them. it's was suppose to be out earlier but I think they had problems with it.

Adam Hartzell 11-13-2003 10:48 AM

Hopefully AE will fix the dynamic strut front end on the new car.

disaster999 11-13-2003 10:55 AM

whats wrong with the current one??

Adam Hartzell 11-13-2003 10:59 AM

It likes to tweak when you hit anything. Even Trinity's version of this front end sucked.

davidl 11-13-2003 11:14 AM

I run the dynamic strut with the IRS conversion on my REV3 and do not have any problems with the suspension going out of adjustment. True story. Now, if you consider a big hit that breaks and arm or bends the stub axle, this suspension is just as durable as the next.

Adam Hartzell 11-13-2003 11:17 AM

If I could get the IRS parts I would switch back from the old skool.

speedxl 11-13-2003 12:40 PM

all you guys saying the front end sucks dont realize that if your breaking something its because you crashing sur some will go out of whack but it stays together jeez how hard are you guys hitting that you actually breaking struts
i have been racing 12 scales since the mid 80's and people were tearing up the old school front ends too even the modern ones hit something hard and they will tweak also. guys the idea that the front end (dynamic strut) is unreliable is b.s.
that has got to be the best suspension ever design for any r/c car ever. i am sure 95% of every body here will agree. that other 5% just disagree with anything the majority have to say!

Adam Hartzell 11-13-2003 12:44 PM

The best front end is the one Trinity is curently using. I don't hit boards often but when I do its a hard hit. I have never broken, bent, or tweaked teh old skool set-up.

speedxl 11-13-2003 01:01 PM

i thought trinitys set up was still the same didnt know they had an old school front end. i have raced an associated base car in one form or another right now i have the dynamic strut front end on my quad12 and have had a couple hard hits but nothing tweaked or bent, in the past i have sheared an arm or two but we race with pvc pipe layouts and going topped out down the straight away and brushing the outside wall if you clip a connection pipe it will snag you.
other then that i wear them out before they break.

dandyspashett 11-13-2003 01:12 PM

If you prefer T-bar + tri-shock , choose CRC 6 pack, use some aluminium post and fibre bars to hold batts down like the Corally G3. it's a simple modification and save your money

The Quad conv is overpriced for just the conversion of battery brace.

dumper 11-13-2003 01:14 PM

Or wait for the new CRC T-Fource.....

Their new t-bar 4 cell car.
