Can anybody help me with motor setup for 12th sctock, GM3, P2K2 and Paradox. I'm new to 12th stock and typicaly run 12th mod & stock sedan. So any help you can give would be appreciated.
Can anybody tell me what the correct formula for roll-out is and what would be a good starting point for a fast sweeping track and a tight technical track. Thanks Ruben |
roll-out
roll-out is complex math (to me anyway) but here is the formula:
roll-out = distance traveled per revolution / gear ratio= X / gear reduction ratio to calculate distance traveled per revolution: distance traveled per revolution = 3.142 x tire diameter to calculate gear ratio: gear ratio = # of teeth on spur / number of teeth on pinion with the 12th cars there is no gear reduction to calculate, in touring cars this reduction comes from the diff pulleys. many of the poeple i race with have suggested any where from 40mm- 45mm rollout for 12th scale depending on the motor and it's state of tune. with a carpet knife running 64P 100 tooth spur this will put you in the 25T- 35T pinion range depending on tire diameter. the newer the tires, the smaller the pinion. a freind of mine did a spead sheet for 20T- 40T pinions and 52mm (new) - 40mm (wasted) tire sizes. it show all possible roll-out configurations |
Hi there,
Anyone had experience with the new sp12m? What do u think of it. How is it compare to sp12g3? Thanks |
hyperformance ...... could you get a copy of the excel spread sheet for others to use and if so could you email me a copy to [email protected]

For those running a T-bar, particularly the assoc. cars....on carpet, are ya'll running the thin or thick bar..i've been running the .063(thin) bar and havent had the chance to try the thick.....thoughts.
|
you run the .075 t-bar to take away some of the rear bit.

anyone try using a sloid rear axis to run their car?
good or bad? thanks |
Does anyone know where I can get some Jaco purple fronts? Apparently they are all on backorder.

WIll this servo work for a 12L3Oval? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXN662&P=7
Please LMK, I need to have it by sunday. Thanks |
AE_Racer
That's the right sized servo. I hope it's not too late! ;) |
@Disaster999: when your diff gets gritty or is to not set properly, your car will handle not as good as with a perfect working diff. So I belive no diff at all is bad. Just fit old diffballs and washers and lock it to find out...
Can anybody tell the tiresize Josh Cyrul recommends, so we dont need to ask him all for ourself? By the way, Trinity offerd "magic cut" pancar tires some time ago, which were trued to the diameter Joel "Magic" Johnson used. Does anybody know whats the diameter of those? |
Originally posted by Xpress Hey guys, what is the diameter of a new 1/12 tire? In the last ROAR Nationals, people of the 1/10 scale were running stock (MVP) with final gear ratios of 4.6 and in the 1/12 modified I have seen people with final ratio of 3.3 with 10x4 motors. Now I am confused. Is this because of the weight's difference, tire diameter's difference, the track or what? So if any one can help with this would be great |
Hi,
Just started on this page today. Like it better than Trinity tech talk, because I can actually interact. Who else from MN posts here regularly and races1/12 scale at TCHR? Dave S:tire: :D :tire: :tire: |
