chunking in the middle of the tire is not the manufactuers fault, its a combo of
1)hitting something
2)the body then hitting the tire

its not that the tire wasnt glued enough

I usually chunk the middle of fronts when I hit a track wall that is made of pipes where there is a sharp edge, it just happens.

Parma Tires

I am getting back into 1/12 scale. Can someone tell me the difference between Parma rears Pink(30 shore) and Grey(also 30 shore)? And fronts, Black(35 shore) and Magenta(also 35 shore)? I am racing a CRC Bloody Knife on medim bite carpet. Thanks

Where are you getting those shore ratings?

Pinks and Greys are from different rubber families. Pinks have higher grip than Greys. Same with Magentas and Blacks, Magentas have way more grip than Blacks. Blacks are similar to Purples in grip but don't tend to gum up as much. And forget about shore ratings, they don't really tell you anything.

i believe the pink compound and double pink compound have a higher natural rubber content than the greys and blacks.

i usually always run a 10x2 in mod geared at a 100/30 with a 1.75 rear tire.

i am trying to learn more about the 12th scale tire. do you have some links or web pages that talk about what rubber familes are? i know that i am not the only one that is confused. right now where i race people are telling us to run parma or jaco purple front and parma or jaco gray rear. i had heard that before, but where do we get info like that???

thank you

the tire you use really depends on the track conditions and which class you are running.there really is no best tire for every track.usually for stock i will start with purples up front and grey rears.for 19 turn and mod i start with 2x pink front and rear.from here i will adjust to accomodate the track conditions.

We really need someone with a durometer to test and make a chart for us.
