same cell config as the YRX but different hole pattern for items like the cross brace. you can also get a complete conversion kits like the IRS Rugrat, Hyperform H-12, BMI-12 has own podplates,

Over here in the UK, before the L4 was released, several drivers had 4-cell chassis' made for the L3. They were identical to the 6-cell chassis, except there were only 4 holes for the cells, and these were 5mm further forward than the rear holes on the std L3 chassis. It seemed to work well, and it just so happens that the cell positions on the L4 (when cells are in forward position) are the same as described above!

I can't see it being worth it now that the L4 is out, though; just buy an L4 chassis! :)

Just wanted to send a quick thankyou to the guys who posted up their wiring arrangements. ill post mine up soon, probably after the weekend (big race meet), i bought some 16g wire, rerouted centrally under the pack, and looped onto the motor, and has significantly better pod movement. I was trueing my race motor, so threw in an old TC motor, threw a little charge into a pack, and put it on the track, was 1000 times easier to drive. Centralising of the wire weight, also keeping it low, and no more pod tweaking, the car was on rails. Im running it in stock, so its probably going to make the 8 mins very boring :D thanks

Yessir.....lurked around here for a couple of years.....

So what is the Rug Burn......a "O" or "D" plate car? :p

Looks like the best of both worlds to me, the simple battery arrangement of the link cars, with the simplicity of a "T" plate car........Very cool.

Ntensweapon 03-16-2006 06:14 PM

very nice doug!! that car would work great with a Giantkiller front end on it. :tire: :tire:
you have any super close ups of the pod/plate design? send them if you do.
you have my addy.

Thats just an Associated front suspension with CRC upper arms.

rayhuang 03-17-2006 09:02 AM

Yeah-what a wild ride. To address the link cars issue of popping shocks aprt-he has a limiter with a stiff spring as well. INstead of side springs, he runs an anti-roll bar system. I wonder what he achieves with the long side links? When the car rolls inot a corner-do the long links apply pressure on the chassis further forward?
It also appears the rear pod is attcahed to the chassis with that monoblock thing...I wonder if its a ball and socket dealio or what?

Only thing left is-how does it work???
