I like that old school Toyota Tom's body, reminds me to those old Tamiya 1/12th's.
Another thing, do you guys use Skottky Diodes on your motor/esc? I always use them on my sedan, but that's with 6 cells and a modified motor. With 1/12 I only use 4 cells and a 19t motor, so I guess it won't be really necessary. I've also heard that that these days most of the esc's have them build in (I use a Quantum Comp.), is this true? |

I have never used Skottky Diodes in 12th scale. Some of the new stock motors come with capacitors built in. I'm not sure if Skottky Diodes are built in too. I'm not even sure what the diodes would be used for. |

one question about the T-bar.
I know the tweak screws are for you to adjust the tweak. But you can tighten the screws 30% in, 50% in or 100% in and still can balance the car. so what's the difference? |
I run a spektrum and have noticed that my servo slows down at the end of the run. I want to try a Li-Po pack. Has anyone tried this? Where do I get them? How many do I need? and How do I set them up? Thanks ;)

Does anyone of you guys (or gals :D ) know where i can stil get a hold of some TRC Yellow 1/12th donuts?
Now i know a lot of you will start with "don't buy those, buy brand X with Y compound", but please try not to ;) Thanks |
I have a question I have a 12L4 1/12th scale and I noticed that guys who run on carpet mount there servos flat on the chassis just curious I heard this gives the car more steering entring the turn is this true and what other handling characterisics does this provide to the car any help would be greatly appreciated

lowers cg and reduces ackerman which means less speed scrub in the turns due to the near mirrowed movement of the front wheels.
with angle mount servo ususally the inside wheel turns sharper than the outside. it comes down to preference some run flat and some run angled. i run carpet and like the angled mount, yes i've tried both |

There are so many different discussions going on in this 12th scale thread. Who is the administrator of these forums? He really needs to set up individual forums and sub forums for each class. Here is an example:
Electric On Road Nitro 1/10th scale Off Road1/12th scale 1/18th scale 1/8th scale 1/10th scale 1/18th scale On Road 1/10th scale Off Road1/12th scale 1/18th scale 1/8th scale 1/10th scale 1/18th scale etc... When you have these really long threads like we do now, it's nearly impossible to search and find the keyword(s) in the long thread. Example: when search for something, it will always show a search result with the thread called "1/12th forum". Well, that's nice, but you don't know what page your search keyword was found on. So you load the thread and search again using "search within this thread". This shows you a small portion of the individual posts with that keyword, but you still can't read the full post nor do you know what page it's on. I was really surprised to see 90% of the 12th scale talk all inside one single long thread! It's time to make some sub forums. Seriously, this is getting silly. I'd be glad to help volunteer to help move the current threads into the appropriate forums. |
