I use the method that Jon describes as it works for tyres that are of slightly different diameter. If you set if to x on a droop guage, that is fine, but if you then happen to use a tyre that is a little bigger - either because of a thicker insert or bigger wheel, you have changed your droop setting.

...those stupid snap rings out of the diffs, but they arn't very good body scissors anymore..
LOL. Good one. I broke down and got me a set of c ring remover thingy ma jiggies from sears and its the perfect fit. But now that i removed the clip i was suprirse to see that nothing came out of the outdrive ????? it was like the damn thing was there for style. On the other side of the out drive i can see a few washers being held into place by i dont know what but i'm going to mess with that later. I just wanted to test out my new $20 c ring remover that didnt do anything ;-)

The washers and thrust assembly didn't come out because it is probably stuck together with grease and dirt. That all pushes out through the outdrive.

Hi Paul... I've got your old Mission Pro that I've just started racing on carpet here in Phoenix...I'm the only Schuie guy... I was also the only Alex guy.
I've got a carpet setup sheet of of Jon Kerr, but am he was using AE springs... what Schuie springs do you recommend on carpet??
I've got them all, just trying to cut down on my test & tune time...

Thanks!

Ron

Well, this is the normal way But like I said, different droop gauges read differently. I'll chack mine on the Schumacher gauge when I get home but I'm not sure it'll be the same as a Hudy gauge. But I'll go ahead and post it anyways.

I think i have the one that should be the same as the schumacher one. cause theres 2 that hudy sells the one that says 0 and the one that says 20mm and i got the one that says 0 and me looking at the schumacher one they look pretty much the same exept hudy is step and schu is the slide one.

OK, I just measured mine with the Schumacher gauges. The blocks are 10mm blocks to prop the car up and the 0 on the gauge is at the same level. So with the 2mm plate in the rear and 1mm shims in the front, your measure meant should be 4.5 in the rear and 3.5 in the front. Also remember, you'll get different readings if you change the roll center riser plates. But that's where it should be on the gauge.
