Hey guys,
I will be getting an Mi2 in a couple of weeks, and I'm relatively new to touring cars so i've got a few questions about the car.
I have noticed on various setup sheets that some drivers either raise the plate that the suspension mounts are on or remove the plate altogether. What does raising and lowering the suspension mount height do?
I assume it changes the rate of camber change as the hub carrier is moved and it also changes the roll center but could someone explain what each change does ie: Lower mounting block = lower/higher rollcentre = X handling.
Secondly, what are differences/reasons behind running the different drive pulleys (17T & 20T). I have a lot of theories as to the effects these have but I would like to hear what everybodies experiences are with the different drive ratios.
cheers,
Jason

Raising and lowering the suspension mounts raises and lowers the roll center. As a general rule, lowing the mount will lower the roll center and get you more grip on that end. For instance, if I needed a lot more steering going into the corner, I would lower the front suspension. If the rear is too free, I'd lower the rear. We also angle the suspension as well by using anti/pro squat in the rear and kick up/anti dive in the front. I haven't needed to use kick/anti dive yet but adding anti squat helps the car a lot if you're too free coming out of the corners on power.
Different pulleys will give slightly different drive ratios. That's it.
Hope this helps
