Default Question

Anyone try the carpet dragons on carpet? Did you have any luck with them?

Also, here's a silly question. Does it matter which way you put the diff in? Like which side the diff screw/nut is on?

Thanks,
Jon

Jonski- I have never heard of carpet dragons, but on your second question.... If you have the diff in backwards the locknut will work it's way loose and the diff will start to slip, and could cause damage to the diff. With most touring cars it will cause a whole new set of problems because most tourers have diffs that are offset to one side causing added drag damagig belts. With the Axis however this will not be a problem, but the diffs will loosening up and become damaged.

Threaded whocks will actually raise the ride height.

I have had some issues with getting the car down to anything below 6mm with big tyres. The easiest solution i found was associated shock mountings on the bottom. Aprox 2mm shorter so more room for the spring. You shouldn't ever use shock length or droop screws to set the ride height.

Actually when I install shorter springs it's doing the exact same thing that you are doing with the Associated shock mounts, just taking a different route to get to the same destination. Now cutting the springs as before mentioned does change spring rate of that spring, but if both are cut to the same length then both springs will still have the same rate, just a different rate from stock.

BTW: some of the best in the buisness cut coils off of their springs to allow for lower ride heights when other measures don't work.

WELL GUYS JUST WANTED TO POST HERE SINCE ITS BEEN SO LONG AND TO SAY THAT I AM BACK IN THE COUNTRY, FROM MY WEEK STAY IN EUROPE! Today I put a hopefully dialed asphalt track setup on my MISSION!

60 weight oil, 2 hole pistons, blue springs, 5.5mm rideheight, lower wishbone position, 2 caster clips foward, 3 hole on shock towers(f/r), 1 hole on arms(f/r), 2 hole on hubs(f/r), 0 degrees inboard, 2.5 degrees outboard, -1.5 camber(f/r), 0degree front toe, 2mm front droop, 1mm rear droop. Take Off CS-22's w/ medium TO inserts.

Hey all...

What final ratio is everyone running? I am at 6:13 with the 20t pulley and a stock motor...which I smoked over the weekend. The track was short and technical. Speed-wise I was keeping up with the TC3's and XXX's...but I was still over heating.

On another note,
I want a Rally car...and from the looks of it the Schumacher one shares some of the parts from the axis/mission? Hubs, etc?

Does anyone else have one? how do they like it?

I had an SST 99 Rally car. Was very fast and durable. It did have a severe ride height issue. The car just does not have enough for serious off road rally running. It probably is your best bet if your running on a dirt oval or something somewhat smooth like that. I think you will have to find one used, Shumacher USA did not have them in stock, or at least did not when i tried to get one a month or so ago. I run a Rally Weapon and it has been good for me.

BTW, we used to run a class on the dirt oval with Rally cars, and the 99 Rally was the car to beat. That car with the Shumacher Mini pins/Silver compound.

_neas_: I'm running at 6.192 with the 20 tooth pulley and a stock motor. It got pretty warm, but when I run the Fantom/MVP, it always gets hot. It never got hot enough to burn the brushes or comm or anything like that. The car was blazing fast and still had good bottom end.

Les (MDI) and I are going to try to make a new one, out of the S1 Mission I think....thats the plan anyway. Apperently he can get an underbody and a protective top shell. If anyone else is interested let me know and maybe Les can order more then just a few sets.

I took a look at the motor..I dont think its finished...I will clean it up some and see.

I got to work on the final ratio thing...or move to a bigger track.

Default diff question

IMPACTPLAYR

Thanks for the info, that is what I figured. My question is, what way does the diff go in correctly. I bought my car used and it didn't come with any instructions.

Thanks alot.

Jonski: from the exploded diagram I have of the Axis, it appears that the head of the diff screw should be on the left side of the car, when viewed from the rear of the car.

Stating to dial this MISSION in.

Any setup suggestions for an oval concrete track from a tight asphalt setup?
