Xray T1 pics
Hi,
Just thought I'd show you the T1's belonging to myself and my son so we can keep the thread alive !.
The first picture shows the three cars :-
1. yellow & white is the car I'm currently using. It has a 13.5t Hobbywing motor and ESC. I tried it with rubber tyres for the first time on Thursday & struggled until the final heat when the tyres started to grip. Looking forward to next time out !
2. the black one is my sons T1R - still on foam tyres & going really well. He's 10 years old & has started beating his Dad ! He has just started using a 13.5t and he's improved so much lately.
3. red & white Audi Quattro - my new car - built from a new T1R kit but with carbon fibre chassis, top plate & shock towers. I plan on using this car in the New Year.
If anyone has any tips for going from foam to rubber, then they will be gratefully received. I've softened everything & run yellow springs on the back & white on the front.
The other photos show each car separately. I used to run a T3 and bought a T1 as a spare after watching my son run his. I ran the T1 a few times and really enjoyed driving it. I decided to sell the T3 and build up another car. I have another car in bits which was my spare until I bought the latest T1R kit. The fourth car will be built up as a drift car for my son.
Thanks for looking,

Nice cars!
Do any of you know 100% if the difs from a T1 FK 05 and T2 06 go into the earlier T1s? If not, where are the differences?

The bearing retainers need a little reaming to run the composite spool from the early T2(34) in the T1s.
Also the appropriate width blade must be used.
BTW if anyone is interested PM me, I am thinking of selling my FK05 (still keeping my other T1 though (FK04))

the t2 34t spool fits straight in t1 but you do have to change to 3.5mm driveshaft blades, i have a spec r atomic vm-11 gear diff in the back again also fits straight in and again you need 3.5mm blades.
if i remember right the 38t t3 spool etc are too big to fit in the t1 has i was going to do it.
i have swapped the steering to the other side and the drivetrain as well and the gear diff lines up ok it is a little bit tight but works fine.

last pic above is the gear diff in my t1m i had to mess about to get it in but its worth it.
the pics in this bit are my other t1's first is my t1 evo 2 built from new parts, next is my blue fk04 with hop ups, then my std fk04 and last is my fk05 ,i also have a early t1 at the moment its in bits in the garage being cleaning repaired etc i could do with a new chassis and a new top bumper(carbon) if any anyone has one, and also the solid type spur gear has in the first picture
cheers lee

The original front uprights (that Geezatec shows in his first picture in post #12686) are nearly impossible to find. The Evo2 front uprights (with the wider offset) are almost as bad, and require the wider axle and narrower arms.
I have no idea if this web site is current:

Front uprights (and their associated pivot balls and grub screw adjusters) from the Mugen Seiki MTX2 gas TC will fit, and require a small spacer on the axle to remove end play (an O-clip works nicely for this). The MTX2 parts are heavier than the XRay parts. This car is no longer supported by Mugen, but parts can occasionally be found on Ebay. It's not cost effective to buy all of the necessary parts new, but there are lots of used, unloved MTX2's around. I saved some of the spare uprights when I sold of my fleet of MTX2s.
Some of the newer TC cars made by Mugen, Redcat, etc., look like good candidates for front end parts, but they require updates to axles, drive shafts, and more.

3 x T1 for sale
Hi,
I've decided to sell three of my T1's (see post 12679). I will sell them separately as rolling chassis. The new one (pictured with the Audit TT body) has only had one race meeting. It is the T1Raycer car but with carbon fibre chassis, top plate, and shock towers. There is another Raycer which has been converted to Lipo, and a T1 Factory car which has also been converted to Lipo. All three run ball diffs, the ones in the two older cars have been re-built recently. All three are smooth running cars. I have loads of spares aswell and will include some with each car.
PM me if you're interested in any of the cars.
Thanks,

Hi all... for some reason i have not been getting any prompts from the site regarding all these replies... Nice to see you all still enjoying your T1's...
Lee, thanks for the diff info... I was under the assumption that it would be a drop in and run mod... Now that I more parts are required, I will stick
with the ball setup for now... How is the performance difference in comparison to ball diffs?
