Default FK Problem

Okay last weekend, my bro had alittle encounter. It was not a good week for him, he burnt my monster motor, broke a GT7 ESC, and shorted of 2 my SMC battery packs..... So you can say bad for me actually.

Anyways, for the battery shorting he said the batts did not touch, but thought it was the chassis? He said the chassis was VERY hot when he took it off when the batteries were shorting. Any ideas???

His chassis smells like batteries shorting and has white crap all over the bottom and top.

I should have asked this question right after it happened, but i have been busy.

So tomorrow i am not bringing his FK, so i set-up my other Xray for him to use and test for me, since i wanted to use it as a experimental car. Hopefully he doesnt screw up this car, or else.....

Jon

JDXray, i had a similar problem but i caught it in time before it became a problem. just get a small file and take the sharp edges off the battery slots, what happens is the sharp Carbon Fibre cuts through the cell heatshrink and touches the cell and shorts out on the chassis. When it happened to me as i did the battery strap up the cell shorted out on the chassis and when i plugged the battery in i got a big flash like turning a light bulb on.

Always go over the edges with some CA glue. If you want it to look good you can file the edges at an angle and then go over it with some fine sandpaper before you use the CA.

The same thing happened to me with a set of batteries. I noticed an edge of the chassis would get really warm. I put strapping tape on the exposed parts that came in contact with the chassis and its all good. I never heard of such a thing with anyone else till now.

You wouldn't expect the chassis to be conductive...

The real question is what is the difference between the two and how will it benefit you?

I have both servos and can't notice the difference in speed. I'll go with the 9550 just for the size.

the main difference between the two servos is the size. next is the torque and response time. s9451 has a high torque and faster response time but heavier. s9550 has a lower torque and slower response time but lighter...hmm... which servo shall i put on the car then??? i have both servos...

you are right can't seem to notice the difference in response time. what i do notice is the amount of torque.
