i have not received my t3 yet, but i built a few late edition 09's for my lhs, and a few parts had dropped in quality.
some small alloy pieces had a dirty thin black ano instead of the usual rich gold.
the diffs are the same dirty black instead of the hard ano coating of the last 10 years.
The driveshaft couplers look like plain steel instead of spring steel.
and seems that the turnbuckles are now black alloy instead of spring steel.
only small tings, but for long time xray followers it is glaringly obvious and disapointing.

Yeah the T3 didn't impress me in design detail and...
looks like the took a short cut on the motor mount detail and design. It should be all one piece. Looks like they are now starting to ride on their popularity and skimping on the little details and quality. I'll skip on this $500 ride.

when I say poor quality of the parts I'm not referring to color, but just the workmanship of parts
in my kit I found threadless alu 5mm ball ends (for anti-roll bars, #303431-K), smears on carbon parts and other small imperfections, especially in screws
XRAY can't afford these things

ok 2011.
or maybe a T3R, but these companies are pricing themselves out of the market. I hope the T3r is natural aluminum or gunmetal. Looks more tech. lol I would rather have this if it means lowing the kit cost.

The brace for the motor mount moves the furthest forward screw to the middle so it doesn't create uneven flex. If you look, the last screw for the motor mount is even with the one that bolts down the bulkhead on the other side. I believe this idea was originally pioneered on the 416 (and revised on the WE due to the mount flexing with fast motors) and then later appeared on the Photon and now the T3.

To be honest, spend the money on tires and track time. Unless you can drive the full 6 minutes without hitting anything, the difference in the two chassis more than likely won't be apparent to you. Also try different setup changes to find what suits your driving style. The T2 is still a solid platform.

Im suprised there is any question about quality in the new car. Being one of the few people that actually have one at the moment, I know for a fact that it builds just as easy as any other xray (T1FK, T2, 007,008,009). You guys wont be disappointed if you grab one.
