We have to run rubber tires at the carpet track I race on. If the front king pin longer, I could put a shim under the steering block. What other car runs that size king pin? Does f103 make an optional front end? I know that tamiya makes shims for their front end.
Thanks, Floyd.
You can mess with the spacers on the king pins some to lower the front. But in the back once you use the lowest ride height adapters you still end up with a really tall rear ride height. I've been thinking on using washers under the bulkheads to lower it more...not ideal but it might work.

Indeed, get the ride rubbers or any other tyres suitable for the Tamiya F103.

Alteranatively, you could do what i did and change the entire front end of the 109 to the 104 front end.

I have an f104 that i run on ashphalt and a 109 that i run on carpet. Both use 104 tyres, both have 104 front ends, and 104 body sets, and run the 104 diff/drive shaft. Makes it much easier for me parts wise.

What is going on in 109 land.
I have been having trouble finding parts here in the us.
I don't see too many/any kits/parts on Ebay anymore either.
Anything strange going on?

Have you tried the Shimizu Racing tires for the F103? Thanks!

Post Tire Inserts

Has anyone tried experimenting with using some different tire inserts for better grip and handling of their car?

Was thinking of trying some 1:10 mini inserts or maybe cutting up some old touring car inserts.

Just interested to see if anyone has tried this already and what they found??

Am running Ride F103 med and TRG tires with a silvercan power if that is relevant.

do the 48dp ones take a bearing to fit on the axle?

Default crc mod MkII

Been working on this.
So far on carpet/foams it seems to settle down the rear a bit
on quick right/left turns.I am sill working on it but will keep you all
posted.

Have not tried it yet with fore/aft battery (will do next weekend).

j.d.roost have you totally removed the side spings on the car? and now using those red shocks attached to the centre.. very interested in how this works for you.. give us some pics side on.. can u still run it with the bat down the centre? I have tried turning my bat just to see what it would do.. and it makes my car really taily..

I have the crc spring mod installed.
Those red "shocks" are crc gen-x dampers cut down so the body fits.
I can run the pack front to back if I want to.
The rear located pack works better on carpet with foams.
Still a work in progress.... will keep you posted.
