I figured out a different way to do a CRC spring mod that doesn't use the CRC spring holders or require you to drill out the hole for the set screw. I used a short button head screw and a washer to attach the narrow end of the CRC spring to the top of the stock plastic spring retainer. It fits perfectly that way and doesn't require any modding of the car to do. All that is needed is the springs, a short button head screw, a short counter sunk screw, and a washer. I'll snap a pic later.

Pulled one out of the car today to snap a pic so here it is. You don't get the adjustablilty of the normal CRC mod...but this is easier to do and you don't lose the back 2 screws that hold the upper deck on.

Have a f109, need to put rubber tires on. I need rims and tires. Who has them in the U.S.? And does the f104 tires fit the f103 rims? race on carpet, so need help. I put f104 on it and the front is too wide, wider thsn the rear. the front is about 8 in wide, and the rear is about 7 in wide. I need a lot of help. Do you have any set up help on carpet for the rubber tires? Thanks, floyd.

This has been covered many times..
The 104 rear wheels have a deeper offset.
You need rear 103 tires to make it the same width.
Some have used the 104 offset tires and had good success with it.
We only run foams on carpet where I race so I can't help much there.
If you page back a bit there was a vendor listed selling rubber tires. Or have a look at the 103 103rm threads.

Hi guys, to those who have already had their F109 front end converted to F104 front...may I know if there's any noticeable difference in handling that's worth doing so? And also if there's any modifications needed or its a direct bolt-on? Thx in advance!

caster block.. its in some of the pictures wrong.. if u put it on the way it has it in the manual u will have positive caster..

I run the plastic 103 mounts on my 109 so that mount should work.
As far as the front goes I have no clue.

fit it so the kingpins are are leaning back at the top, ie like a motorcycle fork

Well at our track the F104 tires seem to work the best so yes there was a very noticable difference in handling. But if you can find F103 tires that work then there really isn't a need to do the conversion. The conversion is a direct bolt on. However I did add spacers under the rear bulkheads to lower the rear ride height so I guess I did do some modification. Using the spacers isn't necessary but it seemed to really improve rear grip.
