There's not much difference in weight between stock plastic parts and graphite parts, but the graphite parts are more durable....

S.Stew 02-02-2005 07:35 PM

I disagree.

Its my understanding that the graphite composite parts are indeed lighter and more stiff than their plastic counterparts. Because of the increased rigidity they flex less are less "durable" per say but do offer a more solid part for us racers.

weight issues

and plus if your'e trying to make it into a pro race and they have a certain race weight.a stock composite tc3 will not make it.now a factory graphite tc3 on the other hands will have a better chance of making weight bcuz of your high end small electronics that dont weigh Sh*t, and there are some places you can take some weight off. im thinking about getting the Bmi chassis or Irs chassis there sweet and lighter. Ive heard with one of those chasssis improves your lap times the second u get it on the track and set it up right. plz correct me if im wrong some1. my 2cents

Brian McGreevy 02-02-2005 08:39 PM

A BMI chassis is a good upgrade for the TC3. It usually gives better laptimes, but if nothing else, it will make your current laptimes much more consistent. It also is not susceptable to warp like the tub chassis is. Plus, it looks much cooler

Is there any difference between an Alfa Romeo 2.0 and any Stratus body handling wise?

Funkymojo 02-02-2005 09:17 PM

Are the Square racing aluminium spur gear adapter as good as the IRS one? Thanks

I was always told graphite was less impact resistant than plastic. If that wasn't true wouldn't RPM make their stuff out of graphite?!?:weird:

PaZ 02-03-2005 02:19 AM

im my experience graphite breaks easier than plastic.

As for all me ally parts it has put on a small amount of weight but some should be shead with me warpspeed demon, i have never bent any ally parts and im not exactly a careful racer but i try my best not to crash. I do check all the parts after every meet just to make sure but none bent yet.

RC Buddah 02-04-2005 06:54 AM

are the stock FTTC3 plastic outdrives durable? they look kinda cheesy..if they are kinda cheasy..which i doubt...because its a Factory Team car from associated..which I've heard is a great car....whats the average price of the ally outdrives? thanks in advance.

i put the tc4 towers and chassis braces on my car, and when i ran it for the first time without changing anything else, the car had a ton of turn it but the back end was quite loose

im running cs 27s, copper spring in the front, blue in the rear, shock in the outside hole on the arm, second hole in on the tower in the front , same in the rear.

what should i do to get some more rear traction

PaZ 02-04-2005 10:24 AM

err im running yellow 70wt inner most front with anti roll bar and red 50wt inner most. Nice turning loads of grip no slide. Very nice might help.

primusblowsgoat:

Hey Jimmy here (the slow 1/12th guy :) )

Next time we are at RSJ together, I'll help ya get that car setup. Something is not right if your having to run the setup you posted.

Jimmy.

primusblowsgoat 02-04-2005 11:24 AM

LOL i dont have to run the setup i posted, i just had money to burn and figured id try it out.

with the stock tc3 towers and chassis braces, and the same spring and monting combos, it car handled alright, just not good enough.

i also changed some other stuff too, alum center shaft, alum cvds, i took some material off the diff cases to free it up, smaller spur with a new motor, and i believe the tires may be starting to go out, so it may not just be the tc4 parts change.

i only ran it through one pack on wed.

Red Z 02-05-2005 08:50 AM

g12314,
