I run a 38t pinion & a 100t spur without any problems.

BTW, after my first race with the TC3 I placed 7th in the 19t class at the Pre-Worlds! Not too bad...

Will an 88 tooth spur work?

I have a 96t and an 88, and so far, the 88 hasn't gotten any use at all. But if you are on an extremely tight and technical track, then you will need it.

yup! I tried it once but then I removed it coz l feel its a bit hard to control on a technical track.. that was just my observation on my ft tc3. :nod: :cool: :)

Play with your caster. Also, check your toe-in. I like about 2 degrees of toe-OUT. Sounds like a one-way track. Just don't use composite CVD's (:flaming: ) Also, play with camber links up front. Go in and down on the shock tower for more grip up front.

hey guys. i have a tc3 here just to make a long story short. i took apart my diff and i saw some ball bearings inside [the actual balls] and tehn in the middle i saw a bushing! could those two bushings be replaced with bearings? so my drivetrain will be alot smoother. r should i buy a new bearing set? plz hlp me lol k ty alot:confused:and how should i shim it? and how do i go about sanding my diff cases r can some1 give me teh website for the sanded diff cases.ty?

Hey TC3 experts, Im planning to get a FTTC3 soon and wanted to know which hopups are pretty much essential for the TC3 for racing? From what I've read around, many people have recommended the rpm plastic bumper, upgraded motor heatsink and NTC3 steering rack. Can any1 help me add to this list or subtract from this list? I'm a budget racer so I don't really need all the nice blue aluminum stuff unless its essential for the car

personally, the parts that seem to break the most are the rear hub carriers and the front knuckles. I would buy extras of those. Probably aluminum for the front knuckles as I think they will hold up better there and you won't get slop as fast in the ballstud mount.

As for the rear, I have heard that alot of the aluminum hubs just can't take the abuse back there. So get yourself the following stuff:

BRP front bumper
BRP rear Bumper
BRP nerf wings

This should offer great protection for the vehicle.

As far as the steering rack, depends on what surface you run, if its outdoor, I would look into it. I haven't had any problems with the stock one however indoors. If you are a budget racer, this part isn't that critical. Just look on AE website about the dust cover for the rack. I wish they would just sell one outright.

Hmm, really can't think of anything else at this time as far as to get your started. There are other hopups out there that will make a difference, but just starting out you probably won't notice them and the most important thing would be protection stuff for your vehicle, if you can't finish the race, won't matter what you got on there. As your skills improve, you can get more trick stuff.

I'm running an F0 block up front with 4o caster. I can go to the Losi 6o, which is what I run on carpet. I'm running the front tires straight ahead, I'll try some toe out. Front links are high and long, will try dropping them. I don't want to run a one-way just yet, want to get the car dialed with diffs first...

Anything else? I think I have the rear end pretty well dialed... just need a bit more traction up front.

Are your diffs the composite type? According to the updated manual, you need to run bushings if they are. The diffs will melt if you use bearings. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

rccardude909, I would get the Trinity foam bumper and a full set of springs as well.

yah these r the composite diff cases. so should i buy teh graphite diff cases for my bearings? o how do i sand teh diff cases? do i just make more space in the diff cases were teh bearings go and diff r wat?k cya guyz ty alot
