No, this was done with many hours (4) of dremel and hand sanding. The bottom of the chassis is sanded away a full mm to allow for a lower car. The center is removed for more torsional flex. There is also a removable radio tray... which i did not have time to flush mount for the Birds. The cars transfers are VERY smooth. With the weight being as balanced as it is, and moved more forward, the car is consistent and has more initial turn-in than a standard TC3. As far as breakage goes... it was hacked relentlessly at the Birds...and survived dent or crack free. I just needed more time with the car to tune it in. i have more pics too in differing stages of completion...

I seen on one of the other posts, a graphite upper deck made for the TC3 and had a sticker on it that said "K Speed". I dig the plate, and seen one similar on Cyruls car at the Birds. Someone please let me know where i can get plate graphite so i can make one... or how i can buy one of the ones i have seen! Thanx!

You're probably looking at the K.Models center brace, very nice, but unavailable in the U.S.. Josh made his himself. You can get one similar to Josh's from Warpspeed, or you can get one similar to the K.Models brace from [email protected] , it's also made out of the new SSG silver graphite. There may be other sources here in the states that I am not aware of. Not sure on the price for the Warp speed, but the one from [email protected] is $29.95 + shipping.

Dave-What servo do you have in there? I know Futaba makes on that is shorter then most.I believe its a 9450?< I wonder if that would allow you to put three cells on each side.

Whats under the chassis, is that a shadow or something else?

lilshortyc3 03-02-2003 09:13 AM

Dingus: Yes I did install them and see that the turnbuckle leans toward the back. It also seems that the ball end does not go all the way down.

Pat: I don't think that is a shadow, I think it's a black foam car stand.

Dingus 03-02-2003 09:30 AM

I got mine all the way down, but it took some doing. Losi plastic is much stiffer than Associated's. You could also try some shorter ball ends.

Which hub carriers did you get? I'm running the 1 deg rev installed to take away rear toe.

lilshortyc3 03-02-2003 09:38 AM

I am running the same hubs and wut toe in do you have in the front with the hubs? Also wut other Losi's part do you run in the front?

Dingus 03-02-2003 09:52 AM

My track is a smooth, med traction, nitro layout asphault. My goal was to get the car to rotate easier and have a high top end so all these mods are done to achieve that.

Front: Losi Steering blocks

Rear: Std front hinge pin carrier

R+2+2 rear block

Losi 1 deg rear hub carriers installed reverse to achieve 1 deg rear toe per side.

Others have used the fron hub carriers as well, but that requires a little massaging of the part and it's easy to go too far and then have to shim. I think you can get more caster with the Losi carriers.

lilshortyc3 03-02-2003 10:03 AM

Oh I run carpet wit foams, you think I should try out the R+2+2 block. Right now I have the R+3+0 block wit the F block on the opposite side of the R+3+0 block and F and F-0 block in front. I just installed the Losi hubs so I have never tested them out before.

BigAl,

After changing my oil and tires to the set up you recomended I finally won the A main last Friday. It also helped I finally got a really good servo too! Just thought I'd let you know. I was about to sell the car, but now I can't.
