Hello, I just ordered myself a FT TC3 for christmas and I have a few questions.
1. What body do most of you racers use? I assume either the 'old' stratus or the 'new' stratus.
2. Does the kit include a tapping screw like losi kits, or should I get a 4-40 tap for the graphite parts?
3. Any hop-ups I should get? I was thinking maybe aluminum spur gear adaptor or perhaps IRS pin cushions.
4. Anything else I know?

The cars pretty hooked up right out of the box. IRS makes alot of nice stuff, I think their aluminum input shafts make a differance. Alot of people use aluminum spur gear adaptors, supposed to be truer than the plastic one that's included in the kit. Really just build it to suit your tastes. You've picked one of the best touring cars in the world, and the options are unlimited.

It doesn't come with a tapping screw like a Losi, but the plastic is not quite that stiff either.
Get yourself a good set of hex drivers because you will strip every al screw with the allen wrenches that come with the kit. Don't get the Duratrax ball hexes either, they suck.
A nice option would be the aluminum servo/transponder mount. The standard servo mounts are made of soft plastic and will strip over time.
Get a good high speed/torque servo.
Have fun!

NTC3NUT and Dingus,
Thanks, I think I'll leave it stock for now. I already have a Hudy hex wrenches, a TC2 and a JR digital servo I'm using in my ghetto Losi street weapon that I plan to use for my new TC3.

Josh made it himself I believe. The TC3 is stiff, but you can flex it in a "U" shape (or a bow), even without removing any of the center brace. Here's a link to a Japanese company that makes one similar. I have made an inquiry to HK to see if they can get these.

how far in are they grinding their battery slots for 3300's?
also, i'm trying to get PRP to make some graphite stuff for the tc3 some stuff is already out there but it would be nice to have an accessable, clean, and simple versions of carbon fibre parts. is there anything u guys wanna see?

the most prp could do w/ the towers would be brace them onto the current towers. remember, right now prp is just carbon fibre cutting, nothin machined or aluminum yet

i personally would like to see the center brace, side braces. towers would be killer but i dont know how they'd do it/

I measured my battery slots at 2". That's after removing 1/2 of the center backbone. Start at the out side of the original batery slot, and measure in. As far as CF parts go, I would like a US source for the center bracket also.

I would also like a center brace.I also wish someone would make a graphite bumper brace. It would use to mount a personal transponder and stiffen the bumper like on the NTC3.

Craig,
K.Models has a CF bumper brace, but it's nothing to write home about. You can also get CF body mount braces from Square. Josh has a nice plastic bumper brace on his car, but he probably made it.
