the poly paint is a different # . White can. I used pactra rc bright red. very close to the ferrari red see my pic. I did not want to wait for the Tamiya paint

Plastic paint does not work on poly. It does not stick. Couple crashes and it flakes right off.

I used the PS F60 Paint Bright Mica Red. Stock number 89922. That's the one to use.

I order some from Hong Kong, but my local hobby shop got some in as well, so I bought some off him, and I've ordered a regular F104 body which I'll paint up with the other can to use to race.

but can't by EMS & Air ship , so not had in add in our web site .

I just got my paint delivered to me from Japan. I bought it on ebay. 1st coat is already on. I will post pics when its all done.

O.K. all you 104ers, here's a question. as anybody installed one of these hop-up servo mount in there Pro? I've been staring @ it for 5 min, and honestly I'm trying to aviod taking it off my 103 and installing it on my Pro, hoping someone will chime in with a solution! It's very time consuming when I attempt such a project and fail...

how does the F60 stock rubber tires perform? i'm going to put it on my Pro, but it looks like a hard compound..

They have good grip, similar to type B foams on 104 at Tamiya AV.
This is a medium grip track, with no spray added.

The setup at the moment is stock insert up front, and no, or low insert on rear for more airgap than stock rear insert.

This tire seems to be a B compound for warm to hot track temp and looses some grip in cooler temp.

I highly recommend them.

Or you could order your-self some of those Shimizu's, cause they're the sizzle! Just tried them out today. They performed EXCELLENT... IF you race against somebody that has a set of 'em, you might get smoked! Hella gluey, very easy to mount, and they didn't even think about sliding. SHIMIZU-GET'EM- GO- GO NOW... You wont regret. For what it's worth, today's track was about 45 degrees, no wind, partly cloudy. Prefect!!! @ it again tomorrow, weather permitting...

If you have F60 stock rubber tires, wouldn't you just put them on your F60 and give it a wirl? Or are you anxious to just see how they perform? I'm kinda confused. Don't mind me, I'm runnin on 4 hrs sleep, HAD to finish that Ferrari !!!

zpmhinojosa, i dont have F60.. i want to.. but dont have more budget for F1.. btw.. that black F60 is nice..
i've seen Shimizu and Ride rubber for F103, and its compound is totally different to the Tamiya rubber.. it is soft and stick to the plastic bag.. no wonder they would perform very well on the track..
but Tamiya rubber is hard and does not stick. therefore I'm asking to you guys how it performs on asphalt..
is there Shimizu for F104?

redbullfiXX.....what advantage is it running the rear tire without the insert. Does it allow more grip, and if so, would I be right in saying the tire would wear faster.

I currently run the rubbers with FXII on a low to medium grip track at night. Temp's at about 26 deg C and humity of 75% (quite warm in summer Brisbane)I'm getting good speed with the rubbers. Last meet, was about 0.9sec faster with the rubbers over the foams with exact same set-up. I did soak them for about 3 1/2 hrs as I don't have tire warmers, and they were great. In the final, I didn't sauce them at all, and the grip wasn't as good, but I did have a broken rear wing for most of the race. I've found that if you sauce up the tires for say 15-20 mins, it takes a few laps for them to come up the speed so the car is very loose to say the least. I'm only running a 21.5t motor, so might have to go back to foams for the 17.5, but recommend the rubbers at this stage. I've run the same front and rear tires for 6 x 6 minute races so far and a bit of bashing up the street, and tires seem long wearing. Will be interesting if other compounds come out in the future.
