What is a good temp for the 17.5 V2? I was measuring on the silver can and was only getting 105f then realized the top seemed hotter. Measured on the sticker I'm getting about 135f-140f. My FDR is 4.15. This is after a hard 6 mins.

When you temp the metal case part...it won't give you a good read cause of the reflection of the material...reading from the STICKER is the best area to read temp and your 135-140 is about right. You can gear up a little and be more aggressive...I would say 160-170 is the TOP cause this is no V3 high end motor, so I would not go as high as 180-190 like the V3 can do.

If you are using NO TIMING ESC....you can gear to 4.0 and lower...I ran my Club Spec (no timing) with 17.5 V2 with no timing advance @ 4.0 FDR outdoor....plenty of ppl using 3.6-3.8 range for bigger track layout.

From your temp..you can definitely gear up 1-2 tooth...kinda match your motor temp.

Some has 205g on it, some has 422 on it depends on when are those 2.1 ProStock were out from the factory...however, you DO want to change to 528STOCK for stock motor or 528MOD for mod motor use.

You will need the LCD programmer box to get the software upload to your ESC...then you can download software for free from SPEED PASSION website.

Thanks for the input. I am running the clubman ESC. As it sits I am only slightly slower on the straights against a few guys but pretty close to the rest. I may bump up a tooth and see what I get. I like to be safe then sorry.

My 17.5 V2 comes off around 168-173 and have seen as high as 181. I run 15-16 packs a week at least for the last few months with no problems.

Default 10.5 v3 gt2.0 setup for mod

I'm looking for a starting point for 10.5 w/ timing carpet setup for mod TC. Track is roughly 90 x 40 ( similar to IIC ). I have installed the stock firmware x528 ( gt 2.0 esc ). I have a 10.5 v3 Speed passion motor. Need newbie ( to Speed passion ) friendly ESC settings, motor timing, and FDR. Much appreciated if someone can help me get a jump start

Go to speedpassion website, there's a 10.5t setup on there. You might want to drop the fdr a little bit, as I recollect it was with a duo 2.

That is awesome BLAKE............BLAKE is our junior drivers that actually kicked my butt in indoor carpet almost all the time, if he said his V2 can run around 180, then it is the truth....and his car is one of the fastest SPEC car amoung all the other big boys.

As a matter of fact...you should send me your club spec setup so I can post it on SP site...so does your OPEN 17.5 setup. Not bad for a 10 years old....
