What is the best way for a SP or HW user running boost now to unboost there ESC? Can the boost settings be set to 1 or 0 or off? Or would a flash to a "MOD" software be more effective... IF both work which will leave the user with the best performance?

with the new software there is a non boost software you can add to your current speedo or you can run the cirtix esc from speedpassion

thanks ill check it out.. seems backwards to be turning it off! LOL

But a flash back is cheaper then a new ESC :)

whats the timing on the motor?

geubes 08-17-2010 09:22 AM

5 degrees from zero mark (half a small notch)

ixlr8nz 08-17-2010 09:37 AM

Try 10 degrees on the motor.

Go down 1 tooth from the 5.5 FDR then drop #15 to #2 try that. I have a setup posted a page back or so for a 17.5(Speedpassion ) but try it out

adding more timing on the motor will just add more heat to the motor and the motor will fade at the end of the run. It will sound faster but slower lap times.

The Capacitor is included in The box is that best or is it best to change that? I have never seen the factory team use it?????

I have been using the stock capacitor with no issues , it may just be a preference what cap they use.

Hi,

I was reading through the 'Basic Starting Setups for Supercharger Software' and it says,

AMTS is also in effect (combined with physical motor advance) when the Supercharger is not active (low rpm/high load). Generally 13.5 “likes” a total of about 15deg in this state
I'm also using the SP motors, so does this mean I could set the motor timing to 0deg and then the timing on the esc to option 5 (15,00) or could I also leave the the motor at 5deg and the speedo to option 4 (11,25) giving approximately 15deg is this still the same thing ?

Sorry but trying to understand more about timing and all these esc settings :(

Certainly not true at my local track. 10 degrees is noticeably faster in 13.5, I bet in 17.5 it would make an even bigger difference to mid range/ top speed.

I agree Mike as that is what we determined as well, but it all depends on your ESC settings. Those that like to run 5.XX FDR's do not utilize the timing as it generates heat, while those that gear for RPM use all the timing they can. Your track / driving style will dictate what works best.

It really depends on a lot of things. There is such a thing as "too much timing," so you usually have to balance it out one way or another.

Using a fan on the ESC

I'm just building a B4 and was wondering if you could get away with not using a fan on the ESC (GT 2.0 Pro)? I'll be running a V3.0 motor (8.5)
