528 f/w lacks punch?
Hi guys,
Only discovered the new 528 firmware today, so quickly loaded it into my GT2.1 and put the settings to the same as I used with the 422 f/w. Went racing this evening and found the car had great top speed but really lacked punch. Do you think I need to re-update the ESC to make sure the f/w 'took' properly? Or do I need to change some of the settings with 528? With the 422 f/w I had loads of punch coming out of corners. With the same settings the 528 f/w is very 'soft'. Any help much appreciated. Frank :) |

I have not found 528 to be "soft" but I must say it really is no different on the track to HW518... I raced against a competitor with exactly the same settings as me but earlier software (518) and could notice no difference at all. Not even an inch difference down our approx 70m straight.
I think SP528=HW518 Mike |

I think SP528=HW518 Mike There is a difference from SP422 to SP528. I feel that SP528 has more mid power band and runs cooler over the SPSP422. Also been able to lower the supercharge settings. |

I'm not comparing SP to HW. Last weekend I helped a racer at our local track with a HW speedo w/ 518fw with a x12 17.5. He made a couple of adjustments after we spoke and car was up to speed.

I think SP528=HW518 Mike I will just say i am gonna have to believe you since we(SP Drivers) did not test the 518. Regardless, 100528_stock is by far the best Stock software we have tested and is easily tunable to any circumstance on the track. For those having issues, there could be different reasons why you are not having "Rip". Just post your settings and gearing and one of the SpeedPassion drivers will chime in to help with your set up. |
Hi,
Is there a suggested starting set up pdf for the 100528 ? I have one for the 100422 or should I use the same settings ? It's for a 17.5t. Thanks. |
I found with the 528 I had to gear down 1 pinion (48pitch) I used the same settings as the 422

Where can I buy the 2.1?
Hey guys. After spending a fortune buying the latest SXX SS i want to give the SP 2.1 a go. I like the idea of downloadable updates. Can someone please let me know where I can buy one online as I cant find them available anywhere. Cheers. :D

Hi im looking to get a brushless ESC and am very interrested in the sp 2.0.
Ill be using it for mostly 21.5-17.5 in non stock esc racing ie: Tekin rs in stock/superstock with max boost. Will the mod profiles be best for me? Im currently running silver can in Vintage class 21.5 (similar to Trans am) and can keep up through the corners but down the straight i get blown away. Is this the ESC for me? Thanks |

Absolutely!
And will I need the "black box" to set it up and tune it properly? And is the speed passion unit better than the hobbywing? Or are they identical? Thanks |

Post your settings, motor brand and type and track size. So we can help.
None of us have found this. Thanks for the comments. Track is tight twisty indoor carpet, Losi fixed timing 13.5T. FDR 6.17 on a Tamiya 416WE. ESC settings: 4/7 9/5 12/3 13/2 14/3 15/7 I know these are pretty soft settings, but with the 422 f/w the car had plenty of punch. Now with the 528 it seems very soft and picks up speed after what feels like a 2 second delay (probably less really!). Any ideas? I will try re-flashing the ESC and see if it's any different. Cheers :) |
