check your gearing is not undergeared.
V3 motors with the timing maxed and the esc values high can be overtimed so keep an eye on it.
The V3 motors are more torquey so take more gearing compared to some other motor brands.

maxing out the timing on the motor all you are doing is adding heat to the motor, they motor does sound faster but is not faster on the track.

1. because 2.1 is pro only.
2. technically it's ok, but not quite safe, depend on which motor turn you run with. so keep watching the ESC temps, and never forgot to use your fan.

I have been running it on my 2.0 pro with a 10.5 for the last to race outings and have had zero issues... Just great performance. Just watch temp on both esc and motor....

Thanks all for the replies!

Obviously you haven't tested it on any big tracks.... It is noticeably faster on big tracks with max timing on the motor. It will suffer for about the first 2 meters but then is faster altogether. Motor temp is usually around 38-50 degrees depending on grip, air temp etc.

i havent raced on a big 1/8th scale track but I have in the past but not with the new software ,and in the past the motor felt better and didnt fade when I ran stock timing, with the advanced timing the motor felt like it was fading at the end of the run and generated more heat.

Well you may want to go back and retest with the newer software because I can tell you that its noticeably faster and of course runs cool because of the dynamic timing. My car is fantastically fast with a gear ratio of 6.2 and all the settings in the esc set as per the hobbywing guide.

One motor which is does not work well with built in timing of any kind is the LRP X12.

Hi guys, can someone tell me what the difference is between the 422 and the 528 speedpassion software ? If anyone has tried the new 528 version with v3 4t motor are the settings the same as the 422.. Also with 4t on these timed softwares what should the mechanical motor timing be on?
Cheers

Need Help

Setup a GT2.1 for an 8.5 V3 on 2WD offroad. How do I get another program int it. I am unfamiliar with the process. I do have the LCD card hooked up to laptop and ready to go.

I have used the Mod software pre installed but esc runs hot. Overall runs ok, but I understand I can get a better software program?

MArk,
The 422 and 528 are DIFFERENT.
100528 has 2 versions. Stock and MOD. YOU want to run the 100528_MOD version for your 4T motor. On the Sp website, you can use Reinghardt's set up from there. Please check that out.

Hi Charlie

I have been using 422 for a while now and I am very comfortable and used to my current settings. Now that there is this "newer" software which is supposed to be "better" and "different" as you have mentioned, I want to try it out but I hate to change the settings and start all over again. Before I do it, could you please let me know if he base setup for 528 is more or less similar to 422 and what is the key item in 528 that I should be aware of. If 528 gives better performance and most importantly a cooler running motor, I will most likely make that upgrade. I am sure many other people in this thread would like to know about this. Thanks in advance for your help.

Understood.
As far as differences:
I used to get MAD power fade after about 4 minutes at ANY settings. Not anymore.
In used to run MAX BOOST to keep up with other boosetd ESC's. Not anymore. I basically run stage 5-7 and have been happy with it.
I used to run #1 on #13,#14, and #15. It has way more punch that i run between 2-4 on those settings. With that being said, here is what i have been running for about a month with NO change.

Motor:17.5 V3
4/8
9/8
12/7
13/2
14/3
15/2

On a track with a 120' straight, gear it between a 4.5 and 5.5 FDR.
These settings are for preference and feel. Adjust accordingly and at your own risk.
