Hello Jilles! Great winter season you had and good luck with upcoming races, you are a great driver!
My question is, do you at the moment work full time for Tamiya as a racing driver?
I want to do it myself, but need to know if there are any full time drivers out there
Thanks!

Run the 46 in the front and you'll save the outdrives on the spool. The blue ones in the back are ok to use.

Hi Jilles,
Currently I use a TA05 w/ spool in Mod on medium size, indoor asphalt. I'm thinking of buying a 416(WE). Is there a big performance difference between the two or is softer TA05 chassis good on asphalt w/ rubber tires?
Thank you in advance.
Joel

Hi Jilles, when I test my car couple weeks ago at the track and the track temp is about 128*F with the 32's tire ( Spec Tire ) was still perfect, so I test it again last weekend the track temp was up to 138*F with same set up and same Spec Tire (new), the car was spin all over the place, I changed different Springs, Roll center and it still the same. But I noticed one thing is since it was 45wt shocks oil up front and 40wt at the rear with only 20% rebound on it, when I changing Springs and noticed that the rebound was changed to like around 70% itself. My question is if the shocks oil got heat up it will expand? or because some little air got suck in to the shocks body and create bubbles and cause the rebound changed? If in this case, am I neccessary to check or even rebuild the shocks after each run? Thicker oil like 50wt at the front and 45wt rear or even higher? Please Help. Thanks.

Setup tips for the 1:10 Nito Worlds 2008 Track
Hi Jiles,
I am not reaching neither Marc nor Toni so I thought you may give me some help.
I am going to race in Portugal at the same track where the 2008 1:10 Nitro Worlds took place last Summer.
The tires choice is free (2 sets for 7 Runs) , LiPo will be used with 9,5T time adjustable motors (very fast with 4,5 gearing?!!)
I have 2 T416 with spool and I am looking for advice on Setup and tire choice.
My speedo is still one GT 1,1 (From Toni) but I may get one of this new fancy ones with variable timing from GM if it can be one advantage (do you know if it is so?)
thanks in advance

PS: I still think that was a shame what happened at the Euros in Austria with your car belt.

So for much higher temps (like your seeing), you probably want to go up higher like you mention.
Track temp won't have a huge affect on this, it's the ambient temperature that you'll want to pay attention too. Still with a 138°F/59°C track temp, I'm guessing your ambient is pretty high anyway!
Jilles should be able to confirm this, but I guess that's partly the reason for the 700wt oil used at the worlds...

This called anti-dive. While it does reduce caster, it's main function is to reduce the cars tendency to dive when braking. This, in turn, reduces the amount of weight transfer to the front tires under braking.

Hi Jilles, on what selection value you normally set for your ESC ie, Dragbrake, brake force and timing. Thanks.

Tire Tweak 2000
Hi,
Is tyre tweak 2000 best used on top of another additive or can it be used on its own??
