Hey EJ, I was looking at this photo of your photon (I believe its your 2009 Reedy car) and noticed you had shims behind the rear shocks on the tower and you also have the rear body post mounted at the back of the rear shock tower. What did the adjustment do for the car, and do you still do this?

I actually was letting a friend run some heats in my Photon Friday night, gave me a better chance to see my own car at track level (and I was also doing race control), but he loved the car so much that he wants to buy one soon.
Mine right now is on rails, although I'm cheating for now, due to still not having enough tyres for changing conditions I'm running foams for now, which seem to be working fantastic on our outdoor tarmac/asphalt track.
What I'm finding surprising is the lack of general wear so far, apart from the expected tiny chips and light scratches on the chassis, and I'm even still running like the stock plastic spool cups, with alloy front shafts.
To be fair though it's not like your US tracks with a sea of boards to hit, we got it good with grass runoff and open design, outdoor IC track.

Ok. Need a little help, little confused. I have the car built now and wanting to set droop. The setup sheet says 5.5 in front and .5 in rear. I suppose this is with blocks on a setup board opposed to the amount over ride height. My hudy measuring tool only goes to -3 and it has no 5.5. So how do I get the droop needed. Is there another droop gauge I should be using? Also, You measure under/middle of loop on rear and on the front of A-arm do I measure the part of the arm forward of c-hub towards bumper or rear? Thanks.

Photon is back!
I had been having trouble with my car since I installed the new lipo chassis. I couldn't find anything wrong with the car but it was a bit inconsistent on the track. I checked tweak and did not find any issue there either. Then I decided to move the battery brace out one hole on the chassis and the car was absolutely dialed. I took it to the annual Mazda Cup event yesterday and TQd 17.5 expert. I won a watch for taking TQ too . There was a slow tight part of the track that I wanted to get through quicker so I made a number of chances for the main to get more low speed steering and unfortunately, it worked too well. It had so much steering, it made the car loose and a bit hard to drive. I didn't finish well, but it was still a good outting. Can't wait until the next race

Spec-R 40T gear diff.
They says it's made for the BD5, but with the right amount of shims it could be installed on the photon too....
