Thanks, we have several club members that have been asking about the SPX specifically, this info will help a lot.

Hi Adam. Yes, that is the point of my schematic at the top of page 73. There is a BEC in the speed control that reduces the 7.4 volts from the two batteries to 6.0 volts. Therefore, the receiver, servo and transponder all get 6.0 volts from the speed control. No need to use a 7.4 volt receiver pack when using the extra single cell this way. Good luck.

Somehow along my quest for figuring out my Rx pack solution I got confused with who I asked about what and which answers they gave me. I guess I could have looked a little closer at the schematic as well Thanks David.

They don't need to read it...they've created newer equipment to replace the SPX (see the SXX series of ESCs) and hope you'll buy that. You know, there once was a time when ESCs didn't have USB expandability...just like there once was a time when the SPX was the hot ticket. Unfortunately, those times have passed us by as LRP fell behind the market curve in terms of stock racing ESC technology.

Just about everything in this hobby becomes obsolete sooner or later.

It's too bad they don't offer some sort of upgrade program like Novak does. Of course, you could always try selling your SPX to someone who doesn't need it for ROAR-spec racing. There's always some kid somewhere ready to drop it into his Slash and blow it up.

Default Short Course Motor

Hi guys, what do you think the best setup to run 2WD mod SC? What turn of motor will you recommend? I know the spx is better suited for stock racing, but I only have one speedo

Thanks

Tried a search in the thread, but couldn't find any mention about....

Sensorless motors and the SPX. Can you run a sensorless motor with this esc? I know that a lot of the special tuning won't work without the sensor cable, but will it work, or not?

Thanks
Peter

Hi David,

Could you post a couple of pictures of how you've got all of this installed on your chassis...? I've got the wiring from the ESC figured out and have 6v going to the Rx but I'm struggling with how to lay it all out on the chassis. Thanks!

Can anyone recommend starting settings for the Stock Spec on an 80ft track, 17.5 1/12th scale?

Thanks!

Is this ESC capable to run a 4.5T 550 motor on a 4WD SCT?
