Here's some photos of my TA03 after my FRP chassis conversion. Also new addition of Novak Speed control and Trinity Team Kinwald 9 Turn. Its awesome.
I just have to set the ESC's current limiter to stop the massive wheelspin on takeoff. My new belted HPI racing slicks should help some once fitted.

Nice looking car. You should mill out that area behind your battery so you can put your receiver on the the chassis and if you do that David Jun setup with the steering you can then move you speedo to the bottom deck as well. That should help with the weight being lower in the car.

Thanks for the advice wyd. I will do that this weekend....I am thinking of losing some of the plastic cowling over the motor as well so that i might squeeze on a heatsink.... Will post some pics of the mods after i make them for all to see. Am working on a web page for TA03 tips and mods with heaps of pics.....

Steevo that is cool. I had 2 different DJ 03's and had both setup like this once I saw a picture of DJ car. For the steering you need to flop you alum. steering arms and move the servo to the other side. I used ShoeGoo to hold the servo once I had everything lined up. Once you move the servo then the speedo will fit beside the servo and and receiver will fit in that area behind then battery once you get that trusty Dremel tool out and open it up some.
It is very trick looking once it is done. I look forward to seeing your car after you do more modifications.

Yeah you're right, the car does still feel like a tank and the FRP chassis does nothing to help this.
The Tub Chassis weighs in at 98.5Gramms and the FRP Kit is around the same. As for the alloy arms they are a few gramms heavier than the plastic parts but they are strong, very strong compared to the plastic. I had 2 of the plastic knuckle arms crack around where the screw holds them in the hub carriers when i had the car set up as standard. There is next to no chance of this happening with the alloy. Also you have to admit that they look soooo cool!!!

Now I am using a saddle pack chassis but can't do the same because there are holes on the spot under where the servo mounts to. I might try doing this again but instead of using tape, I might use two screws and an aluminum mounting post as a nut to hold the entire PCB. I won't be able to cut the mounting tabs this time
