You may say to lengthen the shocks... i did but to keep ride height at the stock height by setting shock collars to 1.5mm and 2mm respectively and lengthening the shocks to fit the slop between the spring and shock cover is now way to much as the perfect amount of play was when shocks were at previous length..

so basically when you all built your car what did you do? am i missing something? as there is no set shock length or droop measurement in the manual and what the manual says wont physically work im a bit stuck. i guess i need to know what you guys did and the measurements you used to set up your car in STOCK mode.

cheers
Go to TeamXray.com it will help you with basic setups. Find the link to the setup manual,,,, On a "droop gauge" play around 6mm front 4/5mm rear...ride height 5mm front 5/5.5 rear. Basic....setup. "Center Lift" 1.5mm Front no more than 3mm rear.....it will change depending on what axle your are running.

Ok so does the MRE car come with a ball diff as well as the spool?

If not can you still make a ball diff for the MRE car like the MSX?

Can the Graphite top deck from the MSX fit the MRE?

And Rick or Martin might beable to answer this one better, What all would you need to get to run the car on carpet with foam?

Thanks guys.

No need to "make" one as Tamiya has released one. Check the RC Champ thread for details.

For carpet racing (rubber tires) buy a regular 415 or the 415 msx.
The MRE is for asphalt racing.

droop is 5mm at front 4 mm at rear

this is also the best starting point for tarmac racing
run with out the roll bars to make sure your droop is set up correctly though.

If the tyres are over heating due to the track temperature go to hard springs hpi blues or xray light blues which are 20lbs. As this will Reduce mechanical grip.

Also this setup work well with a spool on a tight track.

the LWT dosen't ork on carpet the best rubber setup is spassetts rubber setup which is on tryhards website.

If you use the old supension rhinehards lrp carpet setup is the best to use but don't run a spool in it as there is no front toe out.

MSX/MRE on carpet with foams.

Can the 4mm chassis be modified to accept the new steering rack from the mre?

Are guys running the lw suspension, standard suspension or short evo 5 arms on carpet with foams.

Are any mods to steering knuckles etc needed to accept standard 28mm jaco or parma foam tires?

What the deal with the standard steering rack on the msx is it really sloppy?

Did anyone post a setup from the carpet nats for the msx?

You can try the TamiyaUSA website for Marc's carpet setup or look for a setup on tryhard's website.

hey Alex slow down

LW suspension will require the Pro4/cyclone steering knuckles to clear the foam tire, new steering rack will work on the 4mm chassis

Only if you want to run Jaco's. You can run the stock LW suspension with 6mm silver wheel hexes and a red 1mm hex shim for Parma tires. But you must use the A blocks to meet 190mm. Otherwise you'll be too wide.
