ill try those things this weekend tho and let you know what i find.
You could also play with the shims behind the steering ball joints... more shims should equal more steering.

HiH

did that last weekend! i settled on front holes on the knuckles and having 1mm behind the ball studs instead of the stock "silver" spacer.

If you use the chassis and bulk head from the stick pack conversion you do not have to grind any material away.

one local racer has done that conversion for lipo.

I did some measuring, and to get as near as dammit 1° increase in castor, you need 0.8mm of shims under the block. Increasing the kick up helps the car deal with bumps, and gives a bit more mid-corner speed, but takes away some intial

Shim under the rear = Anti-dive + reduced castor
Helps to transfer weight to the front of the car. Also the reduced castor helps increase initial turn-in, at the expense of a little mid corner.

I found anti dive good on a track which had quite a few tight hairpins, as it helped get the nose tucked in quickly. Also useful when running a spool, helps increase counteract the lose of initial steering inherent when running one.

TBH though, I haven't played with this option much since getting the MRE... although I might start to try some kick-up, been looking for a little more mid-corner recently.

HiH
Ed
Thanks for those tips, I can never get anyone at the track to clearly say what the changes to the angle of the toe blocks do.

Could you'll give me some suggestions on start up gear ratios for my new bl set-up? I have a MSX with the 36tooth wide pitch pulleys installed. I'm installing a Novak 13.5 with the Novak GTB. I am running on an asphalt track with about 100ft of straight-away.
Thanks in advance...

ive heard "rumors" of people gearing the 13.5 around an FDR of 5.0
with a 102 spur on the MRE/MSX you would need a 45/46T pinion

102/45 x 2.25 internal = 5.1 FDR.

a friend of mine ran his at 4.8 on a similar sized parking lot track.

I thought the MRE was 2.187 internal

What was your tire diameter 62? 63? is that for 13.5BL?

Last weekend I raced at the track using a 10x2 against the 3.5 and 5.5 bL systems. I was running 76Sx26P and 62.5mm tires (6.39 FDR using 2.187 internal) the motor needed cutting after each race but managed to finish 2nd over all on triple Amain.

TRF415 Chassis with TA05 16T center pulley and TA05 36T Diff pulley gives you 2.25.

Well the MRE has the 35Diff 16Pulley

do you change the diff pulley because the 36 is stronger? or just to change the internal...
