Good luck with whatever you end up doing

There is no official Rheinard setup with the new suspension now.
I saw him yesterday at a practice weekend for the Nationals in two weeks. He switched to the new suspension and I think this is his choice for the Nationals now. He also had 415 with old suspension and EVO IV but he likes the 415 more than the EVO IV.
There were also some other drivers testing the new suspension and all of them said this has more steering than the old one what works very good at that track.

Last night I was trying to match oil viscosities between Tamiya and Trinity oils (i.e. tamiya yellow 400=? to Trinity 40. Needless to say, it was very difficult and time consuming to do. Does anyone know of a comparison chart available or something else that shows a precise comparison between Tamiya and Trinity shock oil?

Much Thanx.

Hello V12,

Just wondering what part of Germany you are from and where do you race?

I travel to germany every year to attend various Heavy Metal open airs such as Wacken and Band your Head. Next year I was thinking about maybe trying to sneek in a race or two on German ground.

Cheerz

tested 415 on sunday with new suspension at barham.
this track isnt bringing out the best in the car the 2 times ive been there.
i put it down to the bumps.very bumpy.
anyway initially the car had more grip then the older suspension and more stable.
it also was better over bumps due to lower unsprung weight.
i had to add 40 grams to the 30 i had to put on before with the older type suspension.
my track record at barham hasnt been that great so far i think due to the bumps.
anyway some more stuff on the 415 now including new suspension, silver belts and the new fixed center one peice pully.
all these will be fitted to a newly rebuilt car for the ko grand prix at west london.
with its smooth track and high grip iam sure that i l do good.
il report again about it in 2 weeks.

Has anyone tested the new 415 Light weight suspension on a tight indoor carpet track with foam tires?
Any help would be appreciated

Try this:

http://www.twf8.ws/new/tech/tip/shock.html

although it refers to Kyosho oils, I think Tamiya uses the same number system.

I have tried it on a tight indoor track, but with rubber tyres. I found that AE blue springs, and Tam whites on the rear, with medium sway bar on the front worked well. Cambers were 1.5 all round, with 5mm front and 5.5mm rear ride heights, droop at 3mm front and 5mm rear (using Yokomo gauge). Had B/D blocks on the rear (2deg toe total), and D/D on the front (0deg toe total).
All the camber links etc were as per the suspension instructions, except I'm running 0.7mm spacers under the front suspension block at the front, giving a bit of anti dive.

I was using Sorex 24R's, with med JB foam inserts, and Xray wheels (borrowed set from a fellow racer). However there was a lot of grip, as we had 1:12th cars running at the same time. In fact it was too much for my PitD20 narrow wets (what I usually run on the carpet), they were squealling all over the place, and whilst having massive grip to start, had overheated within about 3laps, and just had nothing left.

Anyway hope it helps.
Ed
