Will be running at my local track (see pics below) and will be running in 21.5T class (will probably run 13.5T next year) Since it is outside track was going to run 48 pitch gearing. Do most brand 48p spurs fit or only certain brands? Only size I have on hand is 72T/80T & 81T so looking at any recommendations so I can do an order for pinions/spurs.
I use the Robinson Racing machined spurs in 48 pitch; #1860 is a 60 tooth. For larger tracks and/or lower-revving motors, you may want to use the 55 tooth, #1855.

I haven't responded so far since I have only run carbon fiber chassis. But in my experience it would be best if you used whatever chassis gives the lowest center of gravity (CG).

Our local track recently changed from gray to black carpet, and my car became "tippy" to the point of being nearly undriveable, so I decided to get back to basics. I removed as much weight as I could from as high up as possible, including eliminating the top deck. Then I purchased a shorty LiPo, sacrificing some horsepower for lower weight. Finally I added a 1/4"x1/2"x5.72" piece of brass on the main chassis, securing it down the longitudinal centerline using the existing holes in the chassis. The brass adds rigidity in both torsion and bending, and significantly lowers the CG. All of this reduced my lap times by about 5%.

I have removed the floating front gearbox arrangement from all of my cars, and I'm quite happy with the results.

Anyone have a mm2 they want to part with or a parts car with a mm2 on it?

Are there any steel replacement diff gears for A700? Will Tamiya TB04 steel diff gears work?

The CG in the stock A700 is so low that it would be impossible to traction roll on crc carpet with properly glued front tires, and a ultra lightweight sweep stc6 body... I can't even traction roll my tc4 with that setup...lol.... A700 with every electronics mounted on the main chassis of course. I even have the top deck screws switched to aluminum...

Not rolling over, just tippy. With the mods I made, the car keeps all the tires down better, which prevents wheelspin on the inside tires. The maximum cornering speed (lateral acceleration) is increased due to the reduced weight transfer.

The result is similar to driving a 200mm pan car on high-grip carpet, then swapping over to a 235mm car. They both get around the track okay, but the 235mm car is simply faster due to the increased stability in the corners.

There used to be some ages ago, I think Shepard made them.

nobody ever ran them since even in mod the plastic ones work perfect and last.

Are you stripping them? change you shimming or try xray gears

Understood..... I've reserved my A700 for asphalt Mod Racing: I guess it's a more forgiving surface.... Happy racing ......

Got an L2 w/S2 chassis. What is best way to do tweak?
Read on Awesomatix site After a crash it’s sometimes a bit tweaked. In this case we untighten all lower screws and tighten them from the center out to the ends.
Is this the best way of doing it?
