Did some testing today, it was going over the stop.

I didn't have nylon but did have some TC body posts. I cut them down to fit between arms and no more mechanical lock. Thanks for suggestions everyone!

Help me decide F1 RC community. With the very limited time I get to go to the track (and gonna be a lot less in 9 months or so), it’s time to thin the herd. Not sure what’s worth keeping, as most of these will be shelf queen status. Here’s a rundown:

Xray X1 2016 spec
F104GP
F104X1 Blue
F104V2 Black
F103.5
F201

The X1 is a keeper. I’d like to hold on to one or two Tamiyas. But which one? They’re all in the narrow configuration, but I do have arms to switch to the wide versions, should I get the itch to run F102/F103 bodies, of which I have too many. That’s another story. Any suggestions?

The f104wgp is the best car for performance in my book, followed by the 104x1. The black v2 is probably worth more at sale being a black version. F201 can be sought after as well if it is pretty clean or has an Eagle chassis etc.

Personally I would keep the wgp. If I wanted something to play with, the f201.

Finally got the chance to test the gear diff.
Read lots of stuff, some say Gear is faster, Some Balldiff.

Our track is a low grip, bumpy asphalt track. Had to clean the damn thing with a leaf blower so we got some nice consistent tracktime.
I build the geardiff with AE 47,5wt / 613cst. Recommendation was starting with 800cst, but the track is so low grip that the front swaybar needed to be taken out too.

What I can say:
I drove the exact time, both fastest laptimes were within 0,03s (fastest time were within 0,2s of the record time with the F1, which I drove yesterday with all new hudy tires). What I noticed:
> breaking feels a lot more consistent with the gear diff. The rear is defintity more stable and you wont loose the rear when making hard breakes
> entering fast corners feels better with the ball diff
> overall rear Grip (when accelerating out of corners especially) is a bit higher with the ball diff.
> a friend bent the gear diff shaft the first time he crashed (it looked bad, but the ball diff defintely can take a bigger beating)
