I think "narrow" wheels are what you want. I haven't tried them but they look similar to the F104 foam wheels.

Edit: i found the manual in japanese, it takes 5x10 bearings, so that's a good start...

I have an F103, I want to run a shorty lipo (already done BL/esc)... what has worked for people mounting the battery? I considered getting a chassis conversion just for this reason.
Also... If i decide to not go that route... I've been eyeballing the FGX with IFS conversion... why doesn't everyone want one of these? ... it's RWD with independent pushrod suspension.

The fgx gearing and rear suspension eats too much of the 21.5t motor strength. Direct drive chassis will pass you easily on every straight. The time you loose there won't be gained back in the infield...

Perhaps I'm better off getting an F103/F104 CF kit (i see the Yeah Racing Transformula has plummeted in price).
Thoughts on the Yeah Racing Transformula?
Also... F103 turnbuckles... same as F103RM? I have the stock tamiya rods... they bend often.

Interesting, I had no idea the losses of that little belt were so pronounced. And I hear you about the weight... it just looks heavy. Not that Exotek couldn't sell you something to fix that.

One of our local racers picked up the transformula kit...we couldn't get it to run well. If Exotek still makes their F103 conversion you are probably better off getting one of them. I'm not sure if you can get them anymore though.

I have a transformula and it is awesome on carpet. You must do some changes to make it work with f104 bodies and tires.

Anybody experience this issue with ride tires and tunning haus wheels ? There is a gap in the middle of the front tires kind of suck in. Is it going to get flat after a few runs?
@Condor Speed: It looks like there is no insert in use or the wheel is to wide...
Another question: Did someone here do the Exotek F1R2 conversion to his F104 and can give some feedback about his experience/ the performance on track?

Pretty sure the ride tires have to be used on ride rims. At least that's the assumption I have always been under and that's what it says on tqrcracing.com website under the ride tire

I use the foam insert that came with the tire and the wheel is correct "front wheel F1 tunning haus for rubber tire"

The Tamiya rubber tire and the Ride rubber tires are different and can not mount on the same rim. The new Tamiya tire is the same as a Pit Shimizu tire and mounts to the foam rims. The old Tamiya tire mounted to a rubber tire rim but the diameter of the inside sidewall of the tire is larger than the outside sidewall where the Ride tires have the same diameter on both sides. So if the Tuning Haus rims are made for Tamiya rubber tires of either sort...they will not work with the Ride tires.
It almost looks like a front wheel with a rear tire.
[QUOTE=Condor Speed;13334027]The ride wheels are smaller than the 104 wheels, so when you stretch the smaller ride tires onto the 104 size wheel this will happen, you must use the ride tires with the ride wheels.
