Only just now looking up here due to that Ferrari Spoiler which came through in an email.
(did think it funny though, and yes I'm NOT a Ferrari fan, NOR a Red Bull fan)

Default F1 rookie and electric rookie

What's up everyone! I just built my first onroad f1 kit and I need some help powering it. I am really looking for the least expensive 21.5 turn motor and esc combo I can find. Do you guys have any suggestions? I do know you get what you pay for in this hobbie; however, I race off-road a lot and just wanted to run F1 to try something different and help my driving improve. With that said, all my hobbie money is in off-road and I am trying to make this (running F1) work. Thanks for the help.

This is the cheapest I've found that seemed to get pretty good ratings.

However, I hear Speed Passion is getting back more of the Cirtix combos back in stock. They should be $100-110 for the combo at most places.

Mike Kennedy makes his F10 go quick, I know he's got the Exotek stuff on it but It's still fundamentally the same car..

I think it can be made to work well.

My experience with the HPI Formula Ten is that their rear axle is butter soft. The only after market option axle that HPI offers is an orange aluminum axle, which is even softer. I personally went through 4 HPI Formula Ten rear axles (getting bent after a wreck on the track) before I got rid of my HPI Formula Ten.

Mike Kennedy is here in Dallas today for the 2012 ROAR Carpet Nationals. He is pitting at the same table with Tony Phalen, Mike Dumas, and Bruce Carbone. Kennedy's F1 car here at the Nats is a Tamiya F104X1, not an HPI.

I thought they weren't allowing F1 paint liveries that look like East L.A. lowriders?

I have bodies painted like that but didn't think they were gonna be allowed in this F1 race.

Guys, get a taste of F1 racing from Shanghai, China. SGP1 round 4 took place Saturday (Shanghai Time) at the Shanghai RCI Indoor Racing Club. Hara, Adachi and EC Kim of Korea were also in town for the HPI Works Challenge that took place Sunday (Shanghai Time). Newly crowned TITC F1 Champion Ed Clark was also at the race. Enjoy this video:

Yeah, that car did have a nice paint job; but seriously! it won concours over cars that actually looked like the real thing?!! They have to stop letting cars with paint schemes that don't even resemble an F1 inspired livery win these concours events. I'm not saying that they have to be painted exactly like a real F1 car; but they should at least be painted and decaled in a manner that would look appropriate on an F1 car. That car with the LA lowrider look is what you would typically find on the current 1/10 touring cars.

By judging paint schemes like that as the winner it sends the message that anything goes in F1 liveries. Won't be long before we see flames and skulls and neon green wheels, etc.
