I saw the car at the Chicago hobby show and Fred M. from Tamiya said it was a tub chassis version of the Evo 3 so people could run a car as good as the Evo in the GT2 class. ALL of the parts on an Evo 3 can be put on to this car. It even has the Surikarn upper camber links molded in composite.

Good one itchynads.

Looks like they just switched the battery and motor location. Also, why would you go with a TB02 when the 04R is a more competitve tub chassis?

How do you come to that conclusion Mike? You have not even seen the car drive. If its anything like the evo3,your claim that the tao4r is more competitive would be not true at all.

I think moshmike mentioned the real benefit of this car. Now you have an excellent shaft drive chassis that will be legal for GT2 class. I like it !!!

Hi all,

Who says the TB Evo 3 is faster than the 414 M forgets one thing : the 414 M is wayyyyy more reliable. Moreover, the 414 M proved to be one of the fastest cars by being WC. The TB Evo 3 is fast, but not WC. TRF drivers swithing from TRF 414 M To TB Evo 3 is not a good answer, as they HAD no choice.

Still is the 414 M an amazing car, and moreover with the SSG and Lightweight parts released this year, it looks waaaaaay cooler than the TB Evo 3.

Still is the shaft vs belt drive not proved to be in advantage of the shaft, and will never because they are quite the same, different feeling yes, but similar efficiency. What results in a personal preference when choosing a car.

Finally, why hop up a TB-02 with TbEvo 3 parts when you can get directly the Evo 3 for cheaper ? At least the 414 and the TA04 where different enough.

some people can't directly afford the price of an E3....but at the end spend twice the price upgrading it!

Still are there Evo's aftermarket cheaper than a new kit. And the Evo 3 (not Surikarn) is not that much expensive now.
